RE: Operational: S.T.A.R.

Star tilts her head just a tad as she watches the men slide down the ropes in what might be called curiosity. It might almost seem like the men could get to her without a fight as she bends down slowly. Without much warning however, her reflexes outmanuver theirs by far as she grabs a second Springfield XD pistol and shoots both of them square in the forehead, twice each in the same exact location to make sure the bullet went through.

She had no apparent remorse for killing the men as she aimed above and began shooting the two above. Had their reflexes not been fast enough, they would've been hit as well - if not dead themselves.

It should've been quite apparent by now to the military unit that the android wasn't just going to 'give up' and wouldn't hesitate to kill if she felt threatened.

The other two men disappear out of view behind the balcony's railing.

MT Two: Slag! Slag! Leader and Three are down! The android opened fire, please advise, over!
Command: How the frag did it arm itself?
MT Two: Tac Two was down outside the lab, I believe it took their sidearms. Sir! What should we do?!
Command: Okay... Stay calm and stay out of harm's way. We've still got a backup plan.
MT Two: ... Yes sir.
Command: All... remaining teams, get the heck out of there and seal the lab. Whatever's in there with you, I don't want it getting out. Do not engage the android.

The elevator finally arrives and the doors open. The scientist hurries over to it.

Star stops firing for a moment to listen to the radiowaves for a moment. She shifted a little and stared at where the men disappeared for a while before relaxing and turning to enter the elevator, pressing the button to go up to the spaceport as her systems updated themselves.

Another system with errors in it and once again, she couldn't open the actual program herself it seemed, for whatever reason it was. The door dinged lightly as it opened up slowly, showing the spacesport. She stepped out and kept the guns in her hands while motioning the scientist to stay put, examining the area before she would pick out a spare ship to take ...

RE: Operational: S.T.A.R.

The docking bay is an enormous concrete room, filled with dozens of ships of varying sizes. The large lights covering the ceiling seem oddly dim.

The large control room windows are visible off to the left, looking over the bay. There seem to be windows looking outside, but all that's visible is... orange.

As far as Star can immediately see, there's nobody in here, but there are many potential hiding spots.

The entire far wall of the docking bay is a set of massive, sliding doors, securely closed at the moment.

The scientist waits a moment for Star to look around. Getting antsy, he comes out of the elevator before he's given the okay. He gestures toward the control room.

Scientist: I'll go see if I can open the doors. You should have some basic piloting skills, right?

Star slowly put her hand against his chest, gently but physically motioning him to stay still for a while longer. She was silent for a noticable moment as she slowly looked around the room and then finally turned part away, putting the unused firearm in his hand. "Yes, I do. There are twenty-three possible concealment positions, not including the control room itself. Just aim and fire and stay aware. Chances are that something is or was up here as the elevator was originally up here before I called it back down."

She removed her hand finally and began walking calmly towards one of the more equipped fighter, a slightly bigger version of the RXN-3 Thunderbird with what seemed like what might be a cabin, which wouldn't be out of the ordinary with an assumed specialized military at the facility. She kept her firearm up and ready to aim, checking about every possible hiding place every few steps to make sure she wasn't surprised. Of course, even with her inhuman reflexes and scans, with so many hiding places it wasn't that hard to catch her somewhat off-guard.

RE: Operational: S.T.A.R.

The scientist blinks as he takes the gun. He simply nods in acknowledgement.

The gun in his hand almost makes him more nervous than he was before. He stares at it for a second, sort of holding it away from himself, before turning and heading over to the control room.

Something grabs Star and hurls her into the side of one of the ships, denting it on impact. She can see it is a hulking, bipedal beast--at least seven feet tall--with a silver-colored exoskeleton and black, sinewy skin that almost looks like muscle tissue. Its bisected lower jaw clacks together loudly.

It's a Rylian.

It begins to close the distance between them.

RE: Operational: S.T.A.R.

Her body slowly slumps and falls onto the spaceport floor as she looks up to see the hulking beast lumbering towards her. She stands up, checking external damage which was somewhat noticeable by this point, being flung into about at least a foot of steel. She glances around quickly and realizes she had lost contact with the gun - both physically and visually.

She wasn't exactly sure what to do at first, as the huge beast had quite the advantage over her, especially with most of her systems bugged and malfunctioning. Her gun lost and her only other weapon being hand-to-hand, she didn't really stand much of a chance by herself, but she at least knew why the military units were all slaughtered now.

She searched the entire docking bay for a few moments as she spotted a ship that had it's guns facing the general direction of the beast and figured it was about her best chance right now. Only problem being that she'd need to power up the systems ...

She began to back off, going through possible solutions to fight the hulking beast off with and the only one that gave her any sort of chance would be to try and hack the systems of one of the ion cannons and let it draw energy from her own systems. Of course, this was hoping she'd have the time to do it.

She spinned and dashed to the ship that was nearly on the opposite side of the docking bay and skidded slightly as she put a foot against the ship and attempted to rip the ion cannon off of it. Hopefully the welding wasn't strong enough to withhold 520 pounds of pressure. She kept her glance on the beast to help her decide if she should stay or dodge whatever attack was coming to her next ...

RE: Operational: S.T.A.R.

The entire hangar rumbles as the doors begin to open. The hot air and harsh wind comes in, carrying with it clouds of orange dirt. The scientist is nowhere to be seen in the control room.

The cannon pulls forward with a loud groan as the metal bends, but doesn't quite come free. The beast takes a sloppy swing at Star with its claws, but misses horribly.

A gunshot overcomes the sound of the roaring wind. The Rylian roars and turns around, its back showing what appears to be nothing but a gash where the bullet hit. The metal of the bullet could be seen, barely having entered the creature's flesh. It sees the scientist standing at the top of a larger ship's loading ramp. As soon as the Rylian begins toward him, he hits the button to close the ramp.

But it's too slow. With horrifying speed, the Rylian rushes toward the scientist.

Star displays a mockery of displeasure as the beast starts to rush the scientist, as if she wanted to, there was really little she could do besides to continue in her task. Which when it comes down to it, is staying alive herself as none of her objectives actually include saving another's life, even if he would be rather valuable.

She props the end of the gun on the ground, as it's allowed to tilt while she takes a few of the main wires that were only moments ago attached to the ship. She opens a sort of cartridge-holding space in the left side of her stomach and begins to re-wire the lines into her own system.

She just barely hooks the systems in sync to one another as she left the ion cannon back up slowly and began to charge it. As the beast seemed to engage with the scientist, a rather large ion beam shoots off and hits the beast square in the body. She readjusts the gun in her arms and begins to charge it back up, her A.I. finding it quite interesting she was even allowed a second time as her energy reading systems were among the bugged ones.

RE: Operational: S.T.A.R.

The alien roars in pain, falling to the floor of the ship's ramp as the good sized hole in its back sizzles. Scraped up pretty good, but otherwise okay from his limited contact with the alien, the still-screaming scientist quickly backs away from the alien as it writhes on the ground.

He notices it's starting to smell pretty bad--the air of planet Tonfe being breathable but harboring a terrible stench, and mixing with the smell of roasting alien flesh.

The thing is still squirming about on the floor. The scientist hesitates, but finally works up the courage to vault over its corpse and move over to Star.

Scientist: Let's get the heck out of it before it gets back up or--or more come.
