RE: The Streets of Kepp

Terrathel eyed the man as the soldiers reached them to take him into custody, he wasn't acting like he knew anything about the creatures but he would be questioned anyway.

He wiped the blood (and tingle) off on the cloth of a nearby bench, wiping more than truly necessary. Once he was sure Yamada was done investigating he dropped the arm, and assumed the 'one in a crowd posture' a deceptively casual look, intended to blend in with common people, or to take ones opponent off guard when they realized that you weren't off guard yourself.

He had been using 'hummingbird' for the little combat they had, and 'the drunken sentry' for the approach to the door, but such movement styles would be useless now. "Is the building clear then? if not we can help another floor, if it is let's get out of here." He unconsciously wiped the finger on his pants.

RE: The Streets of Kepp

Locke watched as the soldiers arrived through the doors and approached to reprimand him. He released a scornful sigh and gradually raised his hands into the air; the cigarette sat between his lips and huffed a legion of ghosts. Her words seemed to amuse him, for the familiar wry smile crept around the trapped cigarette.

"The general? I don't think I want to meet him. Yeah, THAT would be a waste of MY time."

He shut his lids and cranked his head up towards the ceiling. The cigarette burned and erected a silver tower of ash. He stood in that position for a few moments as he listened to the approaching soldiers. With careful movements of his lips, so as to not destroy his growing masterpiece, he addressed the impending squad with muffled words.

"If any of you dogs touch me, I guarantee one of you will promptly become acquainted with death. He's quite the fellow."

His expression as he stood, arms raised and eyes closed, projected an image of relaxation and peace of mind.

Wares raised an eyebrow towards the man and was about to say something before Yamada stepped beside him and shook his head. Wares then shut up, apparently confident in her judgment call though this might've come to more of a surprise to Terrathel as he understood the situation more deeply.

"Unless you come with us, you simply cannot follow us we're going. Judging on your use of my name ... I assume you're at least curious. If I disappear, that's the end of it. It's your choice, I suppose," she explains to Locke, calmly folding her hands in front of her black dress and relaxing as the men surrounded him and all held laser rifles to his vital organs.

It was his move now, leaving Terrathel with barely any room except to involve himself in this as well. A com link came in with, "all floors clear. Let's wrap this up." With that Terrathel was apparently free to leave, if he wanted, but Yamada knew he wouldn't.

Yamada was very correct, Terrathel did not shift from 'one in a crowd,' but the gun with camera mount slid idly to center on the dead center of Locke's chest, the biggest part of the body, if he started to move, the best chance was for him to take it in a lung instead of the heart. He still appeared casual, and wasn't even looking in Locke's direction (with his face at least), but his finger tightened over the trigger.

"they won't have to touch you if you move along with them." Providing an out if Locke hadn't already thought of that one.

with target in sights, and trigger ready the other half of his mind began to wander, analyzing Yamada's movements, her typical pose and movement was closest to what was taught to him as 'innocence' and her fighting style seemed closest to the inventively named 'death.' He perferred 'death,' but often found himself using 'mosquito' (the names of the fighting and movement styles are pretty much what they sound like.) but she had definitely used 'stalking cat' on the door approach. A fair choice, but he was sure no one had taught her any different approaches...

The wandering half of his mind snapped back to reality, he never lost attention on Locke, but he had quit watching the room for the (unlikely) return of the weird magic users. He returned to vigil, still in 'one in a crowd.'

Locke appeared ethereal whilst Yamada spoke, as if her words were reflected from his ear's radar. The monolith of ash grew overconfident as it toppled to the tiles under its own mass. Locke's lips allowed a burst of laughter to escape as he opened his eyes to reveal the circumventing squad. He peered around for a moment before focusing on Yamada once again. Flicking his spent cigarette to her feet, he spoke.

"Why would I wish to follow you? Do you think you can trust me...?" He delivered that question with a wide grin and a sardonic voice. His eyes locked with her's in silence a moment, he continued.

"Although Yamada, you seem like quite the woman. Not to mention quite forgiving to the eye. Maybe I will follow along and offer my skills. That is, if you can guarentee me something that will divert my mind from betraying you." The malignant expression returned to his face. Locke then lined up his eyes with a soldier's who stood to his left.

"You, don't point that kill stick there. Are you void of honor?" He spoke in reverance to the man's rifle sighted on his crotch.

Terrathel's words passed through Locke's ears. The shifting eyes reacted by focusing their receptors on him. Drawing his head back with a mild twist of expression, he responded.

"Now what the heck is THAT? A bloody camera mount? Slag, can people not sight these days? His words mocked and didn't concern Terrathel's statement. He continued with a leer into his eyes. "But I suppose you have a point there." He concluded with an innocent smile. Yet, there was certain maliciousness beaming from the depths of his expression.

Yamada sighed and glanced to Wares, apparently exchanging some unspoken statement of sorts before she shook her head. "We don't have time for this." That's all that was said before Wares nodded to the other soldiers and motioned Terrathel towards the elevator after Yamada. A soldier or two stopped to take the arm from the strange creature, but otherwise everyone started leaving, keeping their sights on Locke as much as possible.

For some odd reason, they had decided against taking the man as a prisoner, leaving nothing but the blood that had been spilled - not even the dead man on the bench in the lobby. If anything, these people seemed to operate more like a special ops than anything, but it was hard saying since they had been relatively easy to defeat.

As soon as everyone was ready, Wares pushed the button to go back down, Yamada in the middle with her seemingly usual calm posture - though thoughtful. As Locke would later find out, the exit towards the stairs had been sealed with welding and very good at that. It's take a good explosive to blow it down, so he'd have to wait for the elevator again or think of a creative exit.

RE: The Streets of Kepp

Terrathel snickered at the camera comment, that probably would be what he would have said in the same position (at the other side of the gun) but he wasn't concerned what the man thought of him, it was effective, and he didn't get it for aiming purposes, that was just a pleasant side effect. As they cleaned up he smiled a mischievous grin aimed at Yamada of all people, and then turning his back to locke, he put the gun over his shoulder, (sighting Locke upside down.) and assumed 'innocence' posture, with his build and type it didn't look like Yamada's.

It looked more like a meek obedient Bio Shell, and it somehow worked even considering the weaponry strapped on him. (the grin was that he just changed posture to imitate her after a sense, though there's no trace of the smile now).

RE: The Streets of Kepp

Locke dropped his arms in an over exaggerated motion and gyrated his eyes in their sockets upon the arrival of Yamada's words. He appeared discontent with the lack of Yamada's humor. The soldiers departed from their positions around him and he twisted his face into odd expressions as their eyes flickered in his direction, as if mocking them. Furthermore, as Wares side stepped with a keen eye around him, Locke thrust forth a feral face in a futile yet comical attempt to frighten the hardened soldier. A stringent expression overcame Locke's face and his head lowered as his manic mind appeared to evaluate itself. His head raised a moment later and with a blink, the familiar sardonic features conquered the barren face.

"Very well than. Farewell, friends."

Slinging his eyes to Yamada, he locked site with her. For a few moments he offered a mere gaze. As the remaining soldiers departed, he grinned and a spark appeared to flash in his eye. He then transmitted a blithe wink to her; the grin kept its reign on his face.

(The next sequence of actions may seem unlikely, but if you have a look at my profile, I stated that he is highly skilled in the art of parkour.)
Locke bent down and gripped the frame of the resting .45 magnum, careful not to execute any abrupt movements. He proceeded to turn his back to the squadron and stroll towards one of the spider webbed windows. He then gripped a wooden bench from the assortment of furniture in the lobby. With his shouldered drawn back, he followed with a whip of his hips and shoulders. The generated torque hurled the wooden mass through the weakened window. Locke peered through the window and located his destination: a protruding portion of the building two stories below that offered a platform for air ducts and weather condition receptors. He climbed on the window cill and managed to locate a stout flag pole bearing the insignia of Cilek Inc. A quick look over his shoulder and a leap of finesse sent him plummeting through the air. His feet connected with the steel pole which caused its molecular structure to severely flex, but withstand his weight. He slid down the length of the pole and spread his arms as he met the air once more. Upon impact with the ground, he threw his shoulders forward and executed a roll. Powerful legs brought him to his feet and his eyes located an adjacent building only one story subjacent to Cilek. His legs initiated a sprint and hurled him over the edge of the seventh floor of Cilek. He needed not perform a roll, but rather his legs brilliantly absorbed the impact of the drop. The building he stood on now was engraved with a particular indented pattern of exterior steel scaffolding. He located this trait and made a quick descent to the street, throwing himself from the last story. As he landed, a woman shrieked and he offered a playful laugh in response before walking towards his awaiting motor bike. His short journey back to the alley would have him passing by the entrance of Cilek Inc. which included the APC containing the deceased pilot. He quite purposely traveled this path.

RE: The Streets of Kepp

Everyone loaded up into the APCs and started off, leaving Locke with only the sight of the last one turning a corner before it disappeared. The three left in Ware's team left Ware and Yamada silent and thoughtful and especially Wares looking non-too happy.

The trip back to the transport crafts was about as mundane as it was before and left the three and several other teams hopping aboard. Before one knew it, they were air-born and headed back to base...

RE: The Streets of Kepp

Terrathel was extremely thoughtful himself, though he didn't show it, he maintained 'innocence' looking a typical obedient Bio Shell. He had used 'King Of the Pride' all of yesterday, which is intentional watchful vigilance in order to prevent problems. However, since problems were definitely going to come, (and since his employer knew he was taking this seriously now) he decided it was best to appear less of a target so he could do more damage (and he enjoyed playing around, he had several more postures and fighting styles Yamada hadn't seen yet ^-^).

But his mind was busy, and he wasn't paying (much) attention to Yamada, he was just using the last posture entered, as he had no reason to change it, (He's trained each posture down to the point where it's almost like clothing).
