RE: Stranded

"Just finishing up. Shouldn't be more than a couple more minutes." he said, and got back to work on welding the sheet of metal onto the ship. He hoped it would be good enough to get them to their next destination.

Within just a couple minutes, they were ready to go. Ishkan put his borrowed tools back into the drawer that he had found them, and climbed aboard the ship. Tawny was still in the front, so he went ahead and closed up the hatch and made his way up to join her.

"Are we good to go?" he asked, and then proceeded to call in to get clearance to leave the station. He felt like he couldn't wait to leave that place behind. It didn't take long for the call to come through that it was okay to proceed. He looked to Tawny to get to okay to go ahead.

RE: Stranded

'Right-O," Tawny said, giving him a thumbs up before leaning back in her seat.

Within a few minutes they were in space, the mining station slowly getting farther and farther behind them.

Tawny stifled a yawn behind her hand as she watched the cosmos out the front window. How long had it been since she got a good rest?

She absently glanced around the ship, her stomach growled as her eyes locked on the bags.

She leaned over and grabbed one, now that she thought about it she hadn't really eaten much over the past couple days and it was just now starting to catch up with her.

The cans clanked together loudly in the bag, Tawny caught Ishkan glance over briefly out of the corner of her eye before opening it and pulling out a random can. It didn't even matter what, she was hungry.

Pulling off the glove on her left hand, she drug the edge of the can along her middle finger, which had a particularly sharp point that had been made by accident while she had been building the hand and she had decided might serve some use.

Like opening cans... Yeah.

After setting down the jagged ring of metal off to the side, Tawny grabbed a spoon out of the bag and dipped it in.

It tasted a bit strange, but that was probably because it was uncooked, and either way she didn't care, she just wanted to eat.

RE: Stranded

Ishkan kept glancing over at Tawny from the corner of his eye. She was digging in on something the might have resembled food at some point in time. He thought about how it had been a couple days since the last time he had eaten, on the pirate ship.

He looked back foward, and continued to pilot the ship to a safe zone to activate auto pilot. He figured their next stop would be Cerania, where it would be tremendously easy to find a new ship. Five more minutes, and he could set the auto-pilot. His eyes shifted back over to the can that was quickly emptying in Tawn'y hands.

"Got anything else good in there?" he asked, his voice coming out strained, with his throat feeling dry from the desire of food. Be it fresh or not, just anything to fill his stomach.

RE: Stranded

Tawny glanced up, she was a bit ashamed to admit that it hadn't even crossed her min that Ishkan might have wanted to eat. She may have spent most of her life with criminals but she liked to think she had some manners.

"Oh, yeah." She set her, now mostly empty, can to the side and reached into the bag, pulling out another banged up can. She didn't look over at the Zap'ana. She was still having trouble not getting embarrassed about what happened earlier.

"I have no idea what this is." She admitted as she drug her middle finger along the rim, ignoring the small screech the metal made. "But if it's the same as the other one it doesn't taste too bad." She took the metal circle out of the can before handing the food to Ishkan, shortly followed by a spoon.

"We should probably stock up when we get to a port." Tawny murmured, turning away from Ishkan and picking her can of food back up. "We should also figure out how to earn some tape, I'm not sure how much you have but I have 1500."

RE: Stranded

Ishkan kept an eye on the controls as he shoved a large spoonful of the questionable food into his mouth. The flavor suddenly filling his senses with goodness. He figured it could have tasted like utter garbage, and it would have still been good.

Ishkan heard Tawny say something about stocking up when they got back to port, and that they would need to find a way to get some tape. Ishkan nodded, and took another mouthful of the food.

The ship was almost to the point where he could set it on auto-pilot. It would then be roughly ten to twelve hours till their next stop, as near as he could figure. Enough time to get a couple pretty nice naps, which he also felt like he desperately needed.

"Don't worry too much about the tape. I have been saving up for a while, and-- I mean, I am a pirate, afterall. I can probably come up with a few ways to get some tape, as long as you're okay with obtaining them by questionable means." Ishkan finally replied.

A green light on the control pannel came on. Ishkan hit it, and then climbed out of his seat, and moved into the back to finish his meal.

RE: Stranded

Tawny smirked as she finished her food. She swallowed the last of it as Ishkan moved to the back.

"Okay with it?" She called back, chuckling. "I have mentioned I worked as a mechanic on Menos, right? 'Questionable means' is part of the job description."

She stood up and stretched before reaching for the other bag, pulling out her blanket.

As she walked to the back of the ship she rolled her shoulders back, snapping them rather loudly.

The back of the ship was a bit more sparse than the front, not more comfortable, but provided more room for her to curl up and sleep.

Ishkan was sitting off to one side so she walked to the other, neatly cocooning herself up in the blanket and closing her eyes.

After a few minutes she cracked her eyes open. Letting an annoyed look come over her face as she stared at the wall. Really, it should have been easier for her to get to sleep.

She let out a low groan before rolling so that she was staring at the ceiling.

RE: Stranded

Ishkan chuckled at her comment about it being in her job description when she worked on Menos. He wondered a little bit about her past, but didn't think now was the time to question her about it.

Tawny layed down on the bed in her big blanket, while Ishkan finished up his meal. He watched her as she tried to get comfortable, rolling back and forth, and finally winding up staring at the ceiling.

After he was finished eating, he got up and started looking around in the cupboards for a spare blanket. After a couple minutes he found one. He spread it out on the floor, laid down, and then curled himself up in it. He suddenly remembered the coldness of deep space, esspecially on small ships.

"At least we'll be passing within a few thousand miles of a sun in a couple hours, so that should give us some added warmth for a little while." he thought, as he drifted off to sleep for the first time.

RE: Stranded

Tawny sighed before pushing herself into a sitting position, glancing over towards where Ishkan was sleeping.

Who was he? It wasn't until that moment that Tawny realized that the only thing she really knew about him was that he had been a pirate and had been sent to kill her.

She had gotten over that last part, so many people had tried to kill her in her life that after her initial rage it quickly had just become another fact.

She took in a deep breath before yawning, she shivered slightly before sliding back down into her blanket.

Her eyes stayed open, she just watched Ishkan as he slept.

After a while, without her even realizing it, sleep overcame her.
