RE: The East Side of Kendill

They were walking back the way they'd come. Juicy was still there with only a few of his girls, and he asked, "Did my brothah help ya'll?" Alex replied, "Yeah, he helped." As they continued on by. When they got back to the block where their van was, Alex said to Ashna, "A'ight girl, get in the van. We'll walk up from here, it's only two blocks down. If we need you to pick us up, I'll call alright?" "Ok Alex, gotcha." Ashna said, taking the key from him and going around to the front of the van. She climbed up onto the hood and sat, lighting up a smoke as they continued on.

They walked down two blocks, and in the middle of the third block was the tenement building that the tweaker had told them to go to. They stepped over a bum on the stoop, and walked into the building. Alex inspected the tenant listing, and looked at the third floor's list. All the apartmeants had a name to them except for two, which were labeled 'TEMP'. Rooms 36 and 38 were the ones they needed to check, so they began walking up the stairs. They reached the third floor, and Alex had Tyson come with him to check 36, while Vince and Max checked 38. Alex looked through the key-hole into 36, and saw nothing but a dark room with no furniture. That wasn't it. He went over to Max who was bent over looking into 38, and Max stood. "Nothin' in here boss. Empty room, dark as a planetside midnight." Alex racked his brain, trying to figure out if he'd read the numbers wrong or what. "Come on, let's go downstairs again. Maybe that guy meant the second floor or something..."

They made their way to the lobby again, and looked at the listing. But, after examining the list for all five floors, there were NO other temporary housing spots in the entire building. "Gosh, this is SLAG!" Alex yelled as he punched the nearby wall. A little bit of the paint was gone where Alex's fist had landed, as he walked down the stoop and stood on the sidewalk. He lit up a smoke and took a drag, as his crew came down and stood with him. "So, what do you wanna do boss?" Tyson asked. "Well, I'm gonna have this smoke, then we'll walk back to Mr. Paranoid, and I'll stick the end of my Lern in his mouth until he decides to tell me something useful." They all pretty much agreed, and then they all started smoking too.

A few minutes later, with Alex's rage mostly subsided, an unexpected person sidled out of the building. It was a guy, though he didn't look like a junky. And, as he started walking down the street, he pulled a blue bandana out of his jacket pocket and proceeded to tie it on his head. Alex and his crew quickly looked at him and eachother, and promptly followed at a distance. He went down a few blocks, turned left, and walked a few more. He went inside a conveniance store, and Alex and his group stayed outside. "Alright, Tyson, you stay on this side of the alley. I'll go over by the entrance on the other side of the alley. Vince, Max, go down the alley a bit, and hide behind a dumpster or something. After he leaves, I'll come up behind him and Tyson'll stop him before he walks by. Then, we'll drag him back there, and we'll get him to talk." They quickly went to their positions, and waited.

A few minutes later, the guy walked out of the store with a bag full of snack foods, and a half case of beer. Alex had sat down on the ground against the building, and in passing looked like nothing more than a passed out junkie. He let him pass, and as he started to get up, Tyson stopped him. "Hey man, got a smoke?" The guy stopped and said, "Yeah, just a minute." He set the beer down, and as he was reaching for his pocket, Alex ran up behind him and grabbed his head and right arm. Tyson grabbed his left arm and shoulder, and they quickly dragged him down the alley. "Oh what the frag man?! You better not mess wit' me you freakin' junkies!! I'm MOON STREET! Mah crew'll frag you up!" Alex just laughed and said, "Well here's a Crown welcome for ya Mooner!" By now, they were close to Vince and Max, and they'd come out from hiding. Alex and Tyson threw him down, and they all fell upon him. They all were stomping him, or down on their knees and throwing punches to his face and ribs. After a few seconds, Alex stopped them. Vince and Max picked the guy up, and held him against the wall. Alex stood in front of him, ripped the rag off his head and grabbed his hair. He yanked his hair so the guy was looking right at him and Alex asked, "What the frag are you doing here?!" The guy smiled and said, "Well I was tryin' to find yo' MAMA." Alex drew his fist back and punched straight forward, breaking his nose and causing his head to slam against the wall. "AAHH!" The guy yelled, and Alex replied, "Wrong answer. What are you and your boys doing here?! You been spyin' on Crown we know that much! What for?!" The guy, obviously realizing that he was either gonna answer questions or get beaten to death said, "Look man! I dunno what we're gathering all this slaggy info for! I just doin' what I'm told! If I had it my way we'd just stay home, or if we was gonna frag wit' ya'll, just bounce on through shootin'!" Alex swung at his jaw, and knocked his head to one side, and he asked, "Last question! Answer and I probably won't kill you. What room number are you all up in in that building? Both temp rooms were empty." The guy looked at Alex with blood running all over his face from his nose and he said, "Room 34, we killed the junkies squattin' in there last week. It'd be obvious if we was just sittin' in a temp room." Alex stepped back and said, "Room 34 eh? Thanks. Throw him in that dumpster." Vince and Max quickly dragged him over to the dumpster, and Alex lifted the lid as they picked him up and tossed him in. Alex pulled his Lern and pointed it at the guy. "WAIT! You said you wouldn't kill me!" He yelled, scrambling to the back of the dumpster. "Ahh, I said I PROBABLY wouldn't kill you. I changed my mind." Alex then fired three rounds into the guy. He crumpled in the back of the dumpster, and Alex put his gun away. They quickly ran down the blocks, and made the turn down the other blocks. They were just a block away from the tenement, all of them pulling out their guns as they kept running.

Locked and loaded, they all leapt up to the top of the stoop and ran inside. They quickly went up the stairs to the third floor, and went to the door to room 34. Alex didn't even bother getting them in formation for a raid, he just burst through the door. Three people were inside, one sitting at a table with headphones, with what looked like wire-tap equipment or something of the like. Another was looking out the windows with binoculars, and the last guy was sitting up on a bed, reading a magazine. Alex raised his gun, and as his crew came in behind him, they kept their guns pointed at a member. All three Mooners just put their hands up, none of them having their guns handy. "Get up. NOW!" Alex said, and all of them slowly stood up. Alex kept his Lern trained on the headphone guy, and slowly walked to the end of the table, where three Glock 18's sat. Alex tossed one to Vince and Tyson, and he kept the third. He slipped his Lern back into his waistband, and now wielded the Glock 18. They quickly corralled the Mooners. They used some rope that was underneath a bed to tie their hands behind them, then with the Glock jabbed into the side of one Mooner, Alex flipped open his phone. He dialed Ashna and when she answered, said, "Drive up to the building." He flipped the phone shut, and they marched the captured gangsters out of the room and down the stairs.

They got down the stairs and to the lobby, and before they were out the door, Ashna pulled up to the curb in front of the doors. Max went forward, since he wasn't holding a prisoner, and opened the side door. They pushed their prisoners in, and ushered them to the back of the van. Once they were in and moving, Alex tucked the glock away and grabbed his AK, and kept it trained on them. He held it one handed, and dialed up Harlem. "Yo, we still got that place in factories? Alright, good. We got three, killed the fourth. Haha, yeah, you know how we do. Sure, if you wanna come over there and help, or just oversee things, that's fine. A'ight man, see ya, peace." Alex flipped the phone shut, and smiled at the captives. "Fish in a barrel, fish in a barrel... So, what were you guys doing up in there, huh? Watchin' Crown were ya? What, you like what you see or somethin', or were you just trying to see into people's bedrooms with that telescope?" Alex asked with a smile. One of the Moon Street boys spit in his direction and said, "Go frag yourself you Creeper. Ya'll are dead! No one can stand up to Moon Street!" Alex took his smile off, took a few crouched steps forward, and used the butt of his AK to crack him across the face. "Use the tape in the back to tie 'em up." Alex said, and the others quickly did so. Soon, the Mooners were securely detained with duct-tape around their wrists. Then, Alex found a few draw-string sacks in the back. He put a sack over the other two's heads, but ripped the string out of another bag, and wrapped it around the smart-mouthed Mooner's throat. Alex tightened it with all his strength, and the Mooner gasped, coughed, and tried to plead his way out of it. His words were lost in his gasping and gagging, and soon, he was lifeless, eyes bugging out of his now dark purple face. Alex drug the kid to the door, opened it a bit, and then tossed him out while they were driving. He rolled down the street a ways, and ended up just laying in the street, tied up and dead.

A little while later, they were at an old warehouse in Factories that had been used in the past to interrogate enemies, and torture traitorous members. Harlem and J-D were there, standing by J-D's car, and as Alex and his crew were bringing out their captives, Da'rel pulled up too. They all kept silent, J-D opening the large door to the building and going inside, flicking on the lights as Alex and Tyson each pushed in a prisoner. Alex's crew followed him in, and after they were sure no one was gonna pull up, Harlem and Da'rel came inside too, shutting and locking the door.

Alex led his prisoner, and Tyson who led his prisoner, to a non-functioning freezer, where they threw their prisoners in to wait. "Don't frag around too much, or you'll be in real trouble." Alex said as he shut the thick door and locked it. They walked away a bit, so the prisoners wouldn't hear them talking. "So," Alex started, "How do you think we should procure the information? Maybe me and Da'rel can take one in one room and try, while Tyson and Harlem take one in another room and try too? Or, maybe bring 'em both out, ask questions, and if we don't get answers, make a fine example out of one?" Harlem perked up a bit and said, "Oh, I've found it much more productive to make an example out of one, when neither of them talk." Alex grinned a slightly sadistic grin, and said, "Alright. Let's take 'em to the main floor." And with that, Tyson and Alex opened the door again and grabbed their prisoners, while the others went off to prepare for the interrogation.

By the time Alex had led Tyson and the two prisoners to the main floor, a large room in the middle of the warehouse, J-D and the others had arranged everything. Alex had Tyson secure his prisoner in a wooden chair, taping his wrists down on the arms of the chair and his ankles to the legs. Alex then led his prisoner to a large hook that was once used to carry large crates down the aisle, punched him in the stomach so he slumped over, then raised his hands and hooked him up, so his duct taped hands were caught up in the hook. J-D then slowly raised the hook, gradually stretching the Mooner upwards, until he was barely standing on the floor with the balls and toes of his feet. Alex motioned for Tyson to take the sack off the prisoner in the chair, which he did, then Alex turned his attention to the interrogatee.

Alex laughed a bit, as he stepped forward and poked the man in the ribs, and asked, "So, my friend. Why were you and your group spying on us? What was the objective?" The prisoner laughed a bit, and said, "I ain't tellin' you SLAG!" Alex sighed a bit, and said, "That won't get you anywhere." And with that, Alex thrust his fist into the man's rib-cage, nearly breaking a few. It sent the man into a coughing fit, and he gasped for air. Alex then liesurely walked over to a nearby table, where an array of 'instruments' had been laid out. A few old butcher knives, a machetee, a switchblade, a drill, a power saw, and a can of gasoline just to name a few. Alex grabbed the switchblade and walked back over. Once again, Alex stood in front of him and waited for him to stop gasping and coughing for the most part. He then asked, "Alright. Same question Mooner. WHAT, WERE, YOU, GUYS, DOING?!" Again, the man just snickered and said, "Wouldn't you like to know? Go space yourself!" Alex didn't even hesitate. He threw two punches to his ribs again, this time hearing a slight *CRACK*, and finished with a punch to his jaw. He coughed a few seconds, then laughed and said, "Heck, if I wanted a kiss I would've called your mother!" Alex reined in his rage, knowing he couldn't get out of control. He then walked over to the guy in the chair.

Alex nearly sat on his lap after coming up to him. He was a few inches from the guy's face, and the guy was just staring with a blank look on his face. "You see him?" Alex asked, and the guy just kept looking forward. "You're about to see what happens, when you do not cooperate with me!" Alex then took quick strides back to the prisoner, and opened the switchblade. It made a satisfying 'shhk!' noise, and Alex took it and stuck just the tip into the man's chest. The man became taut, rigid, as he endured the pain, but he didn't yell or scream. Alex then used the blade to carve a large 'C' in the man's chest. Blood was flowing from the wound, and when the blade was pulled out the man's rigidness lessened, and he was breathing heavily. "Ready to talk now?" Alex asked, and through shuddering breaths, the man replied, "Go sp-.. Space yourself... Re- Red Creeper..." Alex gathered his patience a bit, then ripped the bag from the man's head. He then took the switchblade and thrust straight into the man's thigh. The blade grated on bone, and Alex twisted it around inside. Though he tried, the man couldn't help by the end to cry out and yell. Alex withdrew the blade and threw it to the ground, and said in a calm voice, "This is your last chance. If you want to end this for yourself, and atleast die a QUICK death, answer my questions. What, were you doing?" The man looked down, and after a few more deep breaths, he smiled and said, "I'll gladly die for my home. Same way you'd die for yours." Alex stood there, stunned a minute, then said, "Well, atleast your honest." Alex then walked over to the table and began weighing his options.

Alex couldn't help but feel a sense of connection with this man. He was his enemy, but he had the same heart as him. Alex would do the same in his situation. The only difference was that, Alex wasn't tied up and about to die. Alex then grabbed the machetee, and walked over to the man. Alex turned to look at his comrades and the man stuck in the chair, and said, "Watch closely. This could be you in a few minutes!" With that, Alex turned around and used the machetee to gruesomely murder the man. Alex turned to see the reaction of the man in the chair, and was pleased to see him trying to turn his head away, and trying not to vomit. Ashna had walked off too, obviously not able to handle it. Alex couldn't blame her; not too many people would want to stand and watch this. Alex then resumed his grisly business, using the weapon with a controlled rage. Alex then drew his Glock to end the man's life, pointed it to the man's head, and shot him, ending his agony. Alex then lowered the hook, pulled him down off of it and let him lie on the concrete floor. Alex then turned to the man in the chair, and slowly walked towards him...

RE: The East Side of Kendill

Alex stopped a few feet from the prisoner in the chair. He was very visibly shaken; tears streamed down his face, and though he hadn't thrown up, his face was a pale green. Alex could smell the stark spoor of urine, and saw that the man had indeed made a mess of himself. J-D, Harlem, and Da'rel were standing behind him, all of them looking calm and content. They were fairly used to this stuff; the responsibilities of leadership usually called them to carry out these duties, not their underlings. Ashna was completely out of the room now, probably outside with the vehicles. The rest of Alex's group was still there, but they were all shaken too. They'd probably never've thought that THIS kind of stuff happened, atleast outside of movies and the like. Let alone, at the hands of their leaders.

Alex put a hand on the man's shoulder and squeezed. The man yelped, scared and startled that Alex was touching him. Obviously, the show had instilled great fear into him. "So," Alex started, in an almost sickening calm tone, "What were you guys doing? Don't wanna end up like stubby over there, do you?" The man started crying harder, sobbing loudly. Alex let him cry a minute, then smacked him in the face and said, "Quit being a pansy! Tell me what I want to know!" The man slowly stopped sobbing, and looked at Alex with pitiful eyes. He swallowed hard, then said, "I Don't know. HE," The man said, motioning with his head toward the man Alex'd killed, "Was the leader of our squad. He knew what was going on. Had a briefcase, never let any of us see what was in it. I'm guessing that will have answers for you." Alex stood up straight and withdrew his hand, and asked, "What's the briefcase look like, and where is it?" The man immediately responded, "It's black, leather, and it's under the desk by the windows, behind a duffle bag." Alex smiled and walked off, his crew following him. As he walked out, he heard the others moving out of the way, and a moment later, a shot rang out. Honesty and cooperation didn't always get the enemy out of trouble. But, atleast it usually ensured a quick death.

As he'd thought, Ashna was waiting by the van, and had apparentally burned through a couple of smokes. Several butts were down around her feet. Alex told them to load up, and had Ashna drive. "Take us back to that tenement Ashna, thank you." Alex said, to which Ashna replied, "No problem boss." And with that, they began moving, out of Factories and away from the horror that had just been witnessed by them all.

As they drove, Alex and the guys just sat quietly in the back. Alex knew they were all feeling a little wierd right now, their view of Alex shifted substantially. Finally, Vince spoke up, "Boss, can I ask you something?" Alex just looked over and smiled, saying, "Sure, shoot." Vince looked at the floor a minute, then looked straight at him, "How can you do that stuff? I mean, just, how? Why would you've done that to him? Couldn't we've just found out another way?" Alex let his smile go, and thought a moment. Finally he answered, "All of you, listen to me when I say this. There are two types of people, leaders, and followers. Followers make up the army. They are the ones who concern themselves with THEIR weapon, and THEIR opponent in front of them, and all they have to do is either kill him to fight another, or die trying. Leaders, they're the ones that not only think of themselves, but the thousands of swords they command through their followers. They make the decisions, for the big picture. And, when it comes time to do things that no one should have to do, they do it. They do things for the good of their army. You all, are my army. RCF, is mine and the other OGs' army. The things we have to do, are for the greater good of the whole group. I did what I did today, to stop what would probably have been destruction to all of us, had we not found out their plans. We do, what we gotta do." They all sat very quietly, none of them asking more questions. Maybe they were contemplating what Alex had said and done, maybe they were just trying to absorb all of it still. Either way, they kept moving, back to the building where hopefully answers would be made clear to them.

A little while later, they were back in Skid. A few minutes after that, they were outside of the tenement again. Alex went up by himself to the room, leaving the group in the van. He walked up to the room, found the briefcase, and walked down once again. Again, he got into the van. "Back to the club Ashna. After that ya'll can go on leave." They all said ok, and they rode back to the club. A while later, they were there. Alex immediately went behind the bar and up the stairs to the Table, where he knew the others would be, or atleast a few of them. Waiting for the briefcase, in the hope that more light would be shed on their situation.

RE: The East Side of Kendill

Alex knocked on the doors to the meeting room, to let the others know he was there. He didn't need to wait for approval to enter, so he strode in with the briefcase. J-D, Da'rel, Nate, and Harlem were there. J-D gestured for Alex to take a seat next to him, and Alex did. "Where's Marcus and Maddie?" Alex asked as he sat, and J-D replied, "Marcus is on his way here. Him and his crew were taking care of some business. Knocked over a weapons supply shop, gonna bring us back extra weapons and ammo. But let's get this underway, shall we?" Alex nodded, and he laid the briefcase on the Table and clicked it open. They then took out several folders, and from those, many papers with orders on what to watch, where to watch, and why. There was also a notebook that the group had been writing in. J-D, Da'rel and Alex each started rifling through the papers, gathering what they could from the information.

A little while later, they'd read through all of the papers and the notebook. There was enough evidence in the papers and notebook to easily see what they were planning. By now, Marcus had shown up, but still there was no sign of Maddie. He'd been very hard to get in touch with, as of late. Peculiar, though they'd focus on that matter later.

J-D was the first to speak to the rest of them. "My friends, Moon Street is undoubtedly getting ready to perform a mass, systematic take down of our entire organization. We can gather from these orders, that THEY were actually endorsing the kid crews that were plauging us for so long. They were using all these kids to weaken us, keep us busy, while they were making their own preperations. From the notebook, we can see that they were scouting out where our members hang out, where we conduct business, pretty much EVERYTHING we do on the outskirts of Crown. My friends, unless we do something now, our destruction is only days away." They all sat a moment, when Da'rel spoke up, "So, how're they gonna do this? I mean if they was just gonna bring their whole crew and sweep through, they would've done it by now! The question is, what's stopping them?" Alex then put in his two cents, saying, "Maybe they're bringing in outside guns, mercenaries from other domes or from wherever else they can find them. Or maybe, they're amassing unstoppable firepower.. I mean, AK's versus AK's won't win 'em a thing like this... Maybe they're splurging on explosives, high powered rifles, and anything else that's expensive and goes boom." They all continued discussing things a while, trying to figure out what it is that their enemies were most likely doing.

After much deliberation, they all concluded that it didn't matter exactly how Moon Street was gonna get help to annihilate them, just that they were getting outside help. They would have to get the jump on them, and take out the OGs of Moon that were organizing this, and the help that was coming in. Immediately, they all had their jobs. Da'rel and J-D were gonna start trying to find any experienced mercenaries that could help them in this take down, while Alex and Nate were supposed to try and find out when there'd be a chance for them to initiate this take down. That meant, finding out if they were gonna have a meeting with their outside sources, when, and where they'd be doing that. Alex, Nate and Marcus left, and downstairs they began talking amongst themselves.

"We gotta find out if they're having a meeting soon, and if so, when and where.. How the heck do we do that?" Marcus asked, and Alex and Nate both shrugged a bit. "Maybe find one of their members to interrogate?" Nate asked, and Alex scoffed a bit, saying, "I don't feel like interrogating again anytime soon... And besides, the only people that would be able to give us that information would be one of their OGs, and I doubt that we'd just be able to kidnap one of them too easily.. No, we gotta find out who's coming into the dome in the next few days, and find out if anywhere in Starlight has a conference room rented out.. We need a hacker.." They all sat trying to think of where they could find a capable hacker. Sure, hackers were fairly easy to find, but a good one that could get into databases of the dome's arriving/departing ship manifest, that was difficult. They kept deliberating whether they could find one, when Marcus snapped his head up and said, "Hey! Mel can hack for us!" Nate and Alex looked at him in astonishmeant. Both of them had completely forgotten about Mel, and were even more astonished that of the three of them to remember her and that she had that kind of hacking ability, it would be Marcus. Alex clapped Marcus on the shoulder and said, "Dang buddy, you're smarter than you look. I'm gonna call her now, get this show on the road." And with that, Alex flipped open his phone, and dialed Melissa.

RE: The East Side of Kendill

Neil sits on a bed in a motel somewhere in Jennings, with a laptop in his lap, checking email. His mobile phone rings. He looks at the screen. It's his handler, Christie.

Neil operates alone, but through a corporation. When the corporation gets contracts they can put out to standalone operators, they call him, or any of the others they have. Unfortunately, they also get a cut of the money.

He answers with "Wussuuuuuuuuuuuuppp?"
Christie: Hello again, Castle.
Neil: Joo gah mawney fo' me?

He picks up his Glock from the nightstand and plays with it.

Christie: Yes, and I think it'll fit you perfectly. A certain organization in Kendill is looking for a soldier of fortune to obey their every whim.
Neil: O rly? Sounds just like me. How much?
Christie: Four thousand. With our ten percent deduction, that leaves you with thirty-six hundred.
Neil: Suh-weet! That might pay for the hospital bill! Sign me up!
Christie: Done. You will be receiving an email within fifteen minutes. Goodbye.
Neil: Adieu.

He snaps the phone shut and searches around the room for a wireless reception. Finally, while holding the laptop upside down in the upper corner of the room, above the door, he finally finds one. He hits receive on his email program. He opens the message and sets the laptop back down on the bed to read.

The contract bluntly states that a big shot gang needs hired guns to take down a rival gang. It doesn't bother Neil, using the logic that if he doesn't take the contract, someone else will, so he might as well get some money while he's on this rock.

He packs up his stuff and heads for the Jennings FET hub.

RE: The East Side of Kendill

Alex waited as Mel's phone rang and rang. Then it rang some more. Finally, an answer, "Alex? What's up?" It was Melissa, in her usual cheery tone. "Not much girl, how're you and Jen? Having a good time with your aunt?" Alex asked, to which she replied, "Yeah it's been good. We went to another dome the other day, where it's actually halfway decent. Went to the mall, girl stuff. Anyways, I know you didn't just call to chat, what's up?" "Well," Alex started, "We need you to hack for us. Somethin' real big is goin' down, and if we can't get some info about who's coming into the dome in the next few days, we're all royally screwed. Can you use your laptop from your aunt's?" "Sure," Mel replied, "No problem. What're you wanting me to look for?" Alex took out a piece of paper he'd written details on, to make sure he didn't forget, and relayed to her what they were looking for. "We need to know if there're any mercenary groups, known gun-runners, or anybody else like that. And also, if you can find out if any Moon Street boys've rented a conferance room in one of their fancy hotels, that'd be great. That's all we need really, think you can get that?" Mel finished writing and said, "Yeah sure, no problem. I'll get back to you in a while ok?" "No problem, peace girl." Alex said, flipping his phone shut.

"So, what'd she say?" Marcus asked. "She said 'Go space yourselves, you guys stink.'.. No, seriously, she's gonna do it. Get back to us in a while." Alex answered, putting his phone in his pocket and grabbing his drink. He downed the rest of it, and came to the realization that he was incredibly tired. But he couldn't go to sleep, they still had alot of work to do, and organizing for what they were gonna do. He sat back down at the bar, and Nate and Marcus did the same. They both ordered drinks, and Alex piped up and said, "Hey, can I get a vodka-RedBull, and you got any dust back there?" The bartender grabbed a glass and a RedBull, and started draining it into the glass. "Yeah, got some dust. Ya need a jump start?" The bartender asked, tossing the can and pouring some vodka into the glass now. "Yeah, tired as heck but need to stay up." The bartender stirred the mixture together and handed it to Alex. "A'ight, just a sec. Drink up." The bartender then went to the far end of the bar, and started rummaging through some stuff. Alex drained half the drink, feeling the warmth of the vodka go through his body, and the kick of the energy drink and alcohol give him an awakening buzz. The bartender came back with a dime-bag full of Moon Dust and a razor. He poured a bit onto the counter and quickly scratched a line. Alex quickly snorted the dust, and before he wiped his nose clean downed the rest of the drink. Already, the mixture of the drugs and the drink were giving him an incredible, artificial wake up. Marcus also had himself a line, not because of tiredness but because it was his old vice. Alex knew he probably shouldn't've done that, but heck, this would be the least of his sins by the end of the week...

RE: The East Side of Kendill

Neil: Come on, do this for me. I'm probably going to die in a couple hours and I've always wanted to do this.
FET operator: That's a gross safety violation, I'm sorry sir.
Neil: Dang it, hit the dang lever!

He forces his way through, hits the lever, and dives into the fast express tube head-first, shooting off toward Kendill and laughing maniacally. To tell the truth, he pulls this stunt every time he comes to Perrenor. It's fun. A few seconds later, he arrives in the Kendill station and stops moving, panting heavily. The tube opens and the operator is standing there with a look of amused concern upon his face.

Operator: Had quite a ride?
Neil: There was a drunk rider in the wrong lane! I almost splattered all over the tube! You know what happens when they get clogged up, don't you? They keep clogging. With body parts.

The operator blinks as Neil walks off. Neil doesn't feel like digging his laptop out of his bag, so he pulls out his phone and calls Christie.

Christie: Christie Bauer.

He speaks nonchalantly.

Neil: An orc just swiped my laptop and smashed it with a hammer then disappeared into thin air so hey, where am I meeting these guys anyway?

Christie sighs.

To be continued

RE: The East Side of Kendill

Christie: Their directions were to Gene & Ric's Bar and Grill. Tell the bouncer with the red bandana in his right front pocket that you're there to see Joey. You know how these things are.
Neil: Yes, they're just so straightforward. Danke.

He hangs up and begins walking. He stops in front of an alley and eyes it. He stomps his foot. The dumpster resonates. It's empty. He squints and his eyes shift. Nobody is around to see him. He sidles over to the dumpster and tosses his bags in it, then slaps an orange reflective target sticker on the side of the dumpster, scoots back out of the alley, and continues on his way. His finger starts twitching. He looks over his shoulder. There's a van tailing him.

Great.

RE: The East Side of Kendill

Alex and the others just sat a while, talking some more and just b-s'ing. It had been about twenty minutes since Alex had let Mel go to work, when his phone started vibrating and playing one of Mel's favorite songs. Alex flipped the phone open and said, "Hey, whatcha got for me?" Mel then said, "Ok, write this down. A'ight?" Alex grabbed a nearby napkin, and a pen out of Nate's pocket, and said, "Ready to write chica." "Alright," Mel started, "It looks like they're bringing in some mercs, but not too many. Probably coupling it with superb firepower that they've already got. The 'Black Snake', the ship that houses the 'Black Fang Mercenaries', is due to arrive in Kendill in 24 hours. Two hours after that, a conferance room has been reserved by known Moon Street OG's, in the luxurious 'Masquerade Hotel' in Starlight. Trust me, it's easy to find; ten stories high makes it one of the tallest buildings in the dome. So, ya'll are gonna be up against a LOT of firepower. Prolly gonna have three to five of the Moon OGs up there, with a personal guard of their members. Plus the twenty or so Black Fangs. All in all, I'd guess you're gonna encounter atleast 40 guns when you and whoever else goes in to wipe 'em up." Alex and her sat quiet for a sec, as Alex finished writing anything important down. "Alright, thanks Mel. Hopefully, we'll be finished up here in the next few days and we can leave.. Ok?" "Alright. I'll be glad, I don't exactly miss this place." Mel replied. "Yeah," Alex said, "I know. Anyways, thanks so much Mel, we love ya." "Thanks guys, love ya'll too." Mel said, and with that they hung up.

Alex relayed the info to Nate and Marcus, and after they read it, they made their way back up to J-D. They went to the Table Room, knocked, and went inside. It'd been about an hour and a half since the last meeting, and J-D greeted Alex with some good news. "Well, looks like we have atleast one person already here in Kendill. We'll interview him, but he sounds promising. Do you guys have any juicy gossip for us?" Alex smiled and said, "Yes, yes we do. Got GOOD details on what's gonna go down in twenty-four hours, courtesy of Melissa." J-D smiled and said, "I remember her. Talented girl, to say the least. I'll have to send her a gift when this business is done... Anyways, inform the rest of us so we can prepare." Alex then laid his napkin down, and started giving J-D the basics, then going into deeper detail from what he could remember..

RE: The East Side of Kendill

When in normal situations, Neil can be considered beyond "nuts," but when the slag hits the fan, he can get stuff done.

Luckily, he probably wouldn't need to "get stuff done" right now since the van speeds off past him, turns, and disappears. But about a minute later three guys bum rush him out of a laundromat, restrain his arms, and stuff him into the back of a nearby parallel parked econocar.

Neil: Nice car. I guess you guys are going to kill me? Take my money? I don't know. Please don't touch the picture of my mom, that's precious.

I have you fraggers right where I want you. he tells himself. The guys are silent until they begin driving down the road. The guy in the back with Neil whips out a Martek and stuffs it in his face.

Guy in the back: You're working with the friggin' Creepers, ain'tcha? We don't stand for that slag. You gonna see our boss, he gonna frag you up. Woip!

He pokes Neil's nose with the Martek.

Back Seat: We know whatchou up to. You gonna be hurtin'.
Passenger: Yo, shut the frag up, Donny. You ain't scary. You friggin' noob.

Neil pouts.

Neil: You guys aren't the brightest bulbs.

Back Seat right hooks him in the jaw, bouncing his head off the back of the seat. At least it's soft.

Neil: You're close. Just not quite there, since I could pretty much do this--

He kicks Back Seat in the face, reaches around Driver's seat, cups his hand over his eyes, and jerks his head to the left. The car swerves. Passenger grabs the steering wheel and tries to right the vehicle. Driver actually has the sense to hit the brake.

Neil: --any time I wanted to. But I'm cutting you guys some slack right now. I mean, I think. Since Back Seat is about to stab my eye out. A'ight, I'm down.

Back Seat withdraws the knife and pistol whips Neil, knocking him out.

He wakes up a few minutes later laying face down in a fly-infested, garbage-filled alley. He stirs a little bit. He hears the cracking of knuckles. He grabs for his waist. No gun. He grabs for his pocket. No knife. Dang.

Somebody kicks him. Not that hard, but enough to flip him over. Kind of weird. He sees the guy that kicked him. He's huge.

Neil: Work out much?

Xyber Huge nods to Back Seat and Passenger. They grab Neil's arms and pick him up, dragging him over against a wall. Xyber Huge unsheathes a Kabar and walks over to Neil.

Xyber Huge: You're working for the Red Creepers, eh?
Neil: Not right now.

Xyber Huge pokes the Kabar up under Neil's chin. It just barely starts to draw blood.

Xyber Huge: Let's start slow. How many of your type have they hired?
Neil: ...Me?
Xyber Huge: Who the frag do you think I'm talking to?!
Neil: No, I was telling you. They hired me.
Xyber Huge: Bullslag! What's your contract for?!
Neil: I dunno. Are you gonna use that knife?

He's not sure why the guy hasn't cut him or stabbed him yet. Xyber Huge gets all up in Neil's business, his face quivering with a scowl and baring teeth. It slowly twists into a grin and all four of the gangstas start laughing. Xyber Huge sheathes the knife.

Xyber Huge: Yo, I'm Joey. Red Crown Fiends.
Neil: That's hilarious.
Joey: We're just screwing with you. Testing you. Come on.

They go through the back door of the bar that they are currently behind.
