RE: The East Side of Kendill

Alex had finished explaining the details to J-D and the others, and they were about to start discussing a battle plan or something, when J-D's phone started vibrating across the table. "Eh, what the frag?.." J-D mumbled to himself as he picked it up. It was a text, and after reading it he stood up and said, "Well, Joey and his group of idjits just brought that merc in. Smart-butt, they say he is, but tough as nails and nerves of steel. Looks like he can handle himself too, one of the boys's gonna have a black eye or somethin'. C'mon." They all got up from their chairs, and were making their way out of the room and down the stairs.

They made their way down the stairs and made their way for the VIP lounge, where Joey had taken their mercenary friend. Alex and the other OGs made their way inside, seeing Joey and his crew sitting with the merc, who looked well, Alex couldn't really tell what he looked like. Kinda amused, but irritated at the same time at the welcome. But heck, for all Alex knew he was constipated, the guy was hard to read. But he didn't have a drink or anything in front of him, and so Alex said, "Yo, Joey, get'cho butt up and get him a drink? Fraggin' barbarian..." Joey got up and almost made his way out, but then turned around and said, "Uhh, what do you wanna drink? We got lots of booze, but if you don't want that we got soda, water, all that shtuff..." Alex and the others began sitting down around the table that the Merc was at, and waited for him to place his order before they started discussing business with him...

RE: The East Side of Kendill

Neil: Uh, whiskey. In a bottle.

Joey nods and leaves to get some. Neil looks down at the floor near him and sees his pistol and knife sitting neatly there. He holds up one finger so to tell them to hang on a second. He grabs his stuff and puts it on, then sits up straight just as Joey gets back in with a small bottle of whiskey. Neil nods in thanks and stuffs the unopened bottle into his pocket.

Neil: Well, thanks for the warm welcome, much appreciated. So anywho, what exactly am I going to be doing here?

RE: The East Side of Kendill

The man took the small bottle of whiskey and pocketed it. Alex liked him already. "Well, thanks for the warm welcome, much appreciated. So anywho, what exactly am I going to be doing here?" The man asked, and J-D first spoke, "Well, first things first, what's your name?" The man replied, "Neil." J-D smiled and said, "Well it's a pleasure Neil. Anyways, the specifics of the mission, so to speak. Tomorrow, twenty four hours from now, a group of mercenaries are going to be arriving here, to meet with a group of our enemies. There'll be about fourty or more people all in all. You and Alex here," J-D motioned to Alex, "Along with Nate, Marcus, and Da'rel, are going to be an elite hit-squad. You all will be outfitted with bullet-proof vests, and we can help with a few things weapons wise. Other than that, bring what you want to the party. Your guys' objective will be to kill the Moon Street leaders there, which will be easily identified by my boys, and the group of mercenaries. Anyone else who gets in your way, waste 'em if you have to. Also, along with the pay you'll recieve from your organization, we're willing to give you an additional twenty-thousand Tape. Any questions?" J-D finished, and he and the others waited to see if Neil would have anything to ask.

Neil's eyes glaze over and he smiles at the words "elite hit squad." When the man stops talking, a silence follows as Neil stares blankly at the table, trying to figure out how much money that is per person. Pretty soon he gives up and looks up at J-D.

Neil: I didn't catch your name.

Which is kind of hard since it's not a tangible object. he thinks. He blinks to stop talking to himself.

J-wat I'm J-D.
Neil: Good, good. J-D. Alex. Nate. Marcus. Da'rel. Da'rel.

Da'rel squints.

Neil: Cool name. Anyway, two questions, you all seem very busy. One: you guys got a place for me to stay? Two: we meeting back here in 24 hours?

RE: The East Side of Kendill

Alex took the liberty to answer the questions. "Yeah, you can stay in room five on the second floor here. You'll have all the neccessities, and there's a list of numbers by your bed for any kind of room service you might want, courtesy of our organization. From food and alcohol, to well, anything else you might want. And yes, we'll meet back here in twenty-two hours. Time to prep ourselves, have a final briefing, all that jazz. Until then, enjoy yourself. Anything in the club is free of charge, compliments to your help and all that. And if you end up wanting to go outside of Crown District for whatever, feel free to take a few of our boys with you. Just to be safe, don't wanna get whacked before the job right?" Alex then stood and said, "Alrigth J-D, Da'rel, I'll see you guys tomorrow. Have a good night. Later Neil." Alex then went out of the room, and Nate and Marcus followed him outside.

Alex and his friends walked down the sidewalk a bit, and waited at the bus stop. "So, tomorrow we knock Moon Street on their butts eh? Sounds good." Marcus said as they stood there, waiting for the bus. "Yep, and we'll get a sizeable pay too. Seventy-Five grand for each of us, crazy man.." Nate said, informing Alex of the hazard pay. Alex had forgotten to ask about that, and was also half-surprised at how much they were getting. Course, it would be five against fourty; that made it seem more sensible. The bus pulled up to the curb, and they got on the crowded vessel. The sat on the bench in the back and rode for a while, until they got back to Gateway.

They hopped off the bus and made their way to where they'd parked the ship. A few minutes of walking, and they were there. "Gotta pick up ALL of our toys, right?" Alex said as he disarmed the alarm and opened the door. Nate and Marcus agreed, and they went inside and gathered their stuff. Nate got a long, deep duffle bag that they slid the two Pulse Rifles into, and they then set the grenades inside of the bag too. Nate hefted it up and slung it over his shoulder, and they each finished gathering stuff up. Alex had thought to grab three of their ghetto-rigged utility belts, that they carried things like flash-lights, extra clips, and now grenades with. He tossed those into the bag too, and after that they were out of the ship. Again, Alex armed the ship's alarm and they started walking again...

RE: The East Side of Kendill

After the big shots left, Joey and his crew hung out for a little while longer. About a half hour later, "Back Seat" and "Driver"--Donny and Irvine--stood up.

Irvine: We're out, we've got some business to take care of in The Skid.
Neil: You passing through where you kidnapped me?
Irvine: Heh, yeah, we'll be passing through there.
Neil: I need to do something there.
Irvine: Alright, you can ride with us.

He snaps his fingers at Donny.

Irvine: Let's roll.

They head out and drive off toward The Skid.

RE: The East Side of Kendill

They stop in front of the laundromat at which Neil was abducted earlier.

Irvine: Why you coming back here anyway?
Neil: Dumpster diving.

Irvine laughs.

Irvine: Seriously. You were only here for like three minutes, what do you have to take care of here?
Neil: I'm dumpster diving for guns and clothes.

Irvine rolls his eyes.

Irvine: A'ight, whatever. When you gonna need a ride back?
Neil: In about thirty seconds.
Irvine: ...Okay then, we can stick around if you want to hang with us. We're just picking up a drop and we'll be headin' back to the club.
Neil: Sounds good to me.
Irvine: Alright, we'll be waiting.

Neil gets out of the car and jogs down the sidewalk a little bit, glancing down the alleys he passes. Finally, he sees the orange circle slapped on the side of a dumpster. He walks over, lifts the lid, and heaves his two large bags out of it. The dumpster lid slams back down as he runs out and back to Irvine's car. He gets in the back quickly.

Neil: Twenty-nine seconds.

Donny holds up his digital watch with the stopwatch on. It says 31.22.

Donny: Nuh-uh man, you count slow.

Donny looks back at Neil, then his bags.

Donny: ...Where'd those come from?
Neil: A dumpster.

They finally start believing him. Irvine shifts into gear and they head off again. Neil pulls his SA11s out of one of the bags and loads them. A short while later, they pull up near a tenement and Donny hops out of the car. He heads inside while Irvine moves on down the road. A minute later, Irvine's phone rings. He picks it up.

Irvine: Yo Donny.
Donny: Somethin's up, man. Door's all busted to slag and ain't locked.
Irvine: It's a freakin' poorhouse, what did you expect?
Donny: We're RCF, we don't use slaggy junk like that, not for our drops. Get back here, man, I don't like it. Back me up.
Irvine: Uggh. Fine.

He hangs up, turns around, and heads back down the street.

Irvine: Gosh, I hate that guy. Freakin' pansy. Can't swing a gat worth a slag.

Irvine looks in the rear view mirror at Neil. Neil is staring back at him incredulously.

Irvine: ...What?
Neil: Your stereotypical style of speech.
Irvine: ...Wh--Oh, yeah. It just rubs off on ya after a while, I guess.

They stop in front of the tenement. Donny is running down the walkway, making gross firearms safety violations over his shoulder. At least two cases have fallen down his too-large T-shirt and are burning him. A loud crack accompanies a bullet hole appearing in the driver's side window and chunks of plastic exploding off of the passenger side roof support.

Neil is mad.

It's time to get stuff done.

Donny jumps and tries sliding across the car's hood. A rivet catches, dragging a long scratch across the paint, and causing too much resistance, rolling him over and dropping him face-first into the asphalt on the other side of the car. But that's okay! He has concealment now--perhaps even cover. Neil finally finds the shooters; two guys hanging out of the front door of the tenement building, wearing blue and purple. Their haphazard shots, directed at Donny rather than the car, haven't yet caused any serious damage. Donny makes it into the passenger seat and Irvine dumps the clutch, while Neil rolls down the window and pops off a few rounds from his Glock.

Donny: WHAT THE FRAG DID I TELL YOU MAN?! WHAT THE FRAG DID I TELL YOU? I DIDN'T LIKE IT!!
Irvine: Dude, chill!

Irvine tosses his phone at Donny's chest.

Irvine: Get Joey, tell him to bring some boys. We ain't lettin' Mooners get the better of us!

RE: The East Side of Kendill

The three amigos were out of the parking garage now, and walking down one of the streets of the Gateway. Foreign businessmen walked up and down the streets quickly, accompanied by body-guards usually. They may've had to do business here, but they didn't like it, and they sure as slag knew it wasn't safe. Alex decided he'd give the tourists a show, plus he was tired of walking. He stops Nate and Marcus with a hand signal, and they stand on the sidewalk for a minute. Alex waits a minute as he scans the traffic down the street, and when he spots a very nice sports car, he gets ready to book it. A few cars pass, and then Alex is out in the street. The car nearly hits him, but abrubtly stops as Alex pulls his Glock and runs up to the driver side door.

"Get out of the car ya fraggin' belgian! GET OUT OF THE CAR!" Alex screams in the young businessman's face, and the guy immediately breaks down and starts trying to plead with Alex, though his words are inaudible due to his sobbing and frantic speech. "Aw screw it!" Alex says as he levels the Glock with the man's face and fires. Alex flings the door open, pulls the corpse out of the car and hops in. Nate and Marcus quickly jump in, not even bothering to open the door of the convertible. Many people on the sidewalk were diving for cover, several bodyguards either had hands on their guns or they had 'em drawn, but no one fired. Alex and his crew sped off, in the general direction of Crown.

They were driving, now through the Skid, when Marcus said, "Well, what was that all about man? Frustration being worked out or what?" Alex looked at him in the rear-view mirror and said, "Might not be around after tomorrow. Figured I'd finally drive one of these things. Never got around to it before.. And since we might be floatin' around here by tomorrow night, might as well live it up now eh?" Alex then withdrew a blunt from his pocket, which he'd picked up when they got their stuff from the ship. Nate and Marcus gave grins of approval, none of them'd hit that stuff for a while. Alex lit it and took a huge hit, letting out a large waft of smoke followed by a few coughs. He passed it to Nate, and the cycle continued as they drove.

A few minutes later, as they were driving through the Skid, they heard the strangely harmonious music of gunfire. Alex looked down the street from where they'd parked, and saw a car with what looked like an RCF boy in it. Red rag, couldn't be anybody else. Just then they saw a guy, also RCF, book it out of a tenement building and try to slide across the hood of the car. Something went wrong and he fell face first off the other side of the car, but he was now safe atleast. Two guys, lookin' like Mooners, had come to the door of the tenement and were occaisionally poking out of it to fire at the group. Alex flipped the car into drive and sped forward, pulling up on the far side of the street directly behind the RCF car. Alex pulled the E-brake, causing the car's hover lifts to stop the car short with a lurch. Alex stood up on the seat, and after taking a second to focus his slightly hazy vision, fired a shot into the shoulder of one of the Mooners. Alex looked to see who was in the car, and saw it was the guys that had 'kidnapped' Neil. Neil was also in the backseat. Alex smiled, and got ready to fire more if they needed help...

Donny is looking out the back window.

Donny: Yo! Irv! Stop!
Irvine: Say what?!
Donny: It's da OG!
Irvine: Say what?!

Donny smacks Irvine's arm.

Donny: We already got backup!

Irvine hits the brake, throws it in reverse, and begins back toward the tenement. Donny pulls his RIA 1911 out of his britches and gets out of the car, staying low and waving to Alex. Neil takes careful aim over the edge of the door and fires a few more rounds into the doorway.

RE: The East Side of Kendill

After a hail of gunfire from two directions, the wounded Mooner, who continued putting up a fight after taking the shot, takes another round in a fatal locale and is down for the count, but the other one is pretty wormy and keeps dodging their shots.

And at this point, they were just shooting hoping to catch him with one of their many bullets. They hadn't even seen him in a while. Neil stopped firing a long time ago, since ammo isn't as cheap as it used to be. Pretty soon, everybody else catches on and the gunfire lulls. Except Donny. He's still trying to pop a cap.

Irvine: Quit shootin', dang! He ain't in there no more, you git!

Donny stops.

Donny: What? Then where is he?!

Irvine stares disapprovingly at Donny.

Donny: What?!
Irvine: Inside, maybe?! Whatcha think?!

He smacks Donny's head.

Donny: Owww!
Irvine: We gotta go in after him, a'ight?
Donny: A'ight, man! Why you gotta be a jerk?
Irvine: Shut up, Donny.

They climb out of the car. Neil isn't being paid for this, so he stays behind and low. Irvine and Donny head up the walkway, and an arm pops out of the doorway.

Donny: Oh, SNAP!

He belly flops to the ground. Irvine unloads his piece the easy way. A body, clad in blues and purples, slumps to the floor, out into view.

Irvine: I GOT 'IM!

He approaches the two bodies in the doorway. The fresh one is holding a cell phone. A call is still going.

Irvine: ...Crud!
Donny: What? What?!
Irvine: He called some'in! We gonna have company!

Irvine takes the time to grab both Mooners' wallets while Donny grabs their pistols, and they run back to the car. Irvine shouts in Alex's direction.

Irvine: Yo, they called in reinforcements! Let's split!
