RE: A Traveller, a Cargo Hauler, and a Ship Dealer Walk Into a Bar

Alex: That was smart. We're dead if they find us. Hit that button again.
Sam: ...Fine. Grab it.

They both hold the armband and Sam hits the button. Nothing happens.

Alex: DANGIT!

He runs to a wall and starts beating on it.

Alex: I freaking KNEW this was going to happen!

He yells at the top of his lungs in frustration.

Sam: Alex, SHUT UP!

Alex gives him a "deer in the headlights" look.

Sam: I'm SURE they heard you, you idiot. We need to get out of here.
Alex: ...Okay...

They go over to the door. Alex hits a button and the door opens. The halls are stark white and very well-lit.

Alex: ...Lead the way.

RE: A Traveller, a Cargo Hauler, and a Ship Dealer Walk Into a Bar

Sam: Lead the way? I don't know my way around here.
Alex: Too bad.
Sam: I we get caught, it's your fault.
Alex: My fault?
Sam: You scream loud.

Sam picks a random hallway and starts down it. Alex followed behind. After walking a short distance down the hallway, they came to two very large, white doors. There was a small window on each door. Sam and Alex peered inside. It seemed to be a laboratory of sorts, but there was no one in it. Sam looks around for a button, and pressed it. The doors split apart and opened. Sam headed in first, Alex came in after him. The doors automatically closed behind them. Sam peered around the corner and took a better look around the lab, to make sure no one was in it. On the far side of the room were several large "tubes."

Sam: Hey, look at those things.
Alex: Huh?

Alex was busy looking around the tables and workbenches  at all the weird tools that he'd never seen before. Sam ignores him and heads over to the fogged up tubes. He wipes his hand over the glass and jumps back, startled. Inside was the creature that Alex and Sam had previously. Sam went up to the computer next to the creature and glanced at the screen. The creature had vital signs. There were about seven more tubes lined up next to this one.

Sam: Uh--Alex..

RE: A Traveller, a Cargo Hauler, and a Ship Dealer Walk Into a Bar

Alex: What's up?

Alex looks up and walks over to one of the tubes. His eyes grow wide and he unholsters his Five-Seven, pointing it at the creature inside the tube.

Sam: Alex, no.

Alex stands unmoving for a few seconds, then holsters his gun.

Sam: We don't know what they're doing here. We need to keep tabs on this.

He pauses.

Sam: Somehow.
Alex: You're right.

Sam sits down at a computer in the lab.

Sam: Maybe they have notes or something.

Alex shifts uneasily.

Alex: Why would anybody want to make more of these things?
Sam: Beats me. All I know is I trust these guys a lot less now.

Alex heads back over to the door and looks through the small window. Nobody's coming.

Alex: Leaving these things unattended this long spells disaster.
Sam: Maybe.

Sam continues looking intently at the monitor.

RE: A Traveller, a Cargo Hauler, and a Ship Dealer Walk Into a Bar

A window pops up on the monitor that reads "IDENTIFICATION PLEASE." A voice also says this out loud. Sam and Alex look around.

Alex: Uh?

On the table, a circular hole opens up. They both stare at it for a moment. Sam sticks his hand in. Nothing happens.

Sam: Eh..
Alex: Try sticking the arm band thingy in.

Sam does so. The hole emits a bright blue light. The monitor switches to an access menu.

Computer: Welcome back, Agent Sanders.
Sam: Sanders?
Alex: Must be that guys arm band.
Sam: I s'pose...Now what?

Sam stares blankly at the long list of menus.

RE: A Traveller, a Cargo Hauler, and a Ship Dealer Walk Into a Bar

Alex: Whoa. That probably means we can get through anything that requires security clearance.
Sam: Unless Agent Sanders is a lowly peon.
Alex: Don't ruin my moment.
Sam: That kind of worries me, though. Wouldn't he realize his armband is missing?

Alex shrugs.

Alex: Dunno. Just see what you can find.

Sam finds a REPORTS file.

Alex: Watch it say "access denied."

The reports come up.

Alex: Well, I'll be.

Sam scrolls through it, looking for anything of interest.

Sam: Lots of scientific garbage. All I'm seeing is stuff like "specimen's condition improving" and some stuff about how they brought one back to life. Oh, here's some stuff about cloning.
Alex: Hmm... I guess the scientists wouldn't keep reports about why they're doing this. We might have to find a higher-up and do some...

He cracks his knuckles.

Alex: Interrogating.

Sam closes everything on the computer and retrieves the armband.

Alex: What about fingerprints?

Sam holds up his gloved hands.

Alex: ...Oh.

There's a slight thud. They look at one of the tubes. A creature inside is twitching a little bit and lightly thumping the glass. It soon stops.

Alex: ...That was creepy.
Sam: Uhh... Yeah. How about we leave?
Alex: 'Kay.

Alex takes a peek through the window in the door, verifying that the hall is still clear. They step out and proceed to a featureless, circular door down the hall. To the door's right is a small glass bulb. Sam gestures for Alex to step to the side of the doorway and holds the armband in front of the bulb. Nothing happens.

Sam: Hmm...

He presses the previously unused green button on the armband. A piece on the armband glows in unison with the glass bulb on the wall and the door opens. A man in an unusual uniform happens to walk through the doorway at that moment, oblivious to Sam's and Alex's presence. Alex trips the man and wraps his arm around his neck.

Man: Who--?!
Alex: Quiet. We don't need your men on our butt. Mostly since... Well, that's not your business.

Alex nods at Sam for him to return to the lab. Sam does while Alex drags his hostage toward it. A few low noises escape the man's throat. Alex enters the lab.

Alex: Stay behind me. Don't want to reveal our identities.

Sam nods. Alex turns his hostage toward the tubes.

Alex: Care to tell me what you're doing here?

RE: A Traveller, a Cargo Hauler, and a Ship Dealer Walk Into a Bar

Man: I-I don't know! I'm no assigned to this sector of the labs.

The manw as groaning and grunting as he spoke. Alex gave him a tight squeeze around the neck.

Man: Ugh!
Alex: Don't lie to me.
Man: I s-swear, I'm not!
Alex: Then who are you and what do you do here?
Man: M-My name is George Stafford. I work in the research department.
Alex: Researching what?

He groan again, gasping for air.

Man: Weapons and technology.
Alex: Thanks.

Alex gives the man a sharp blow to the temple, knocking him out. Alex drags him over to a storage closet on the opposite end of the room, and shoves him inside.

Sam: ..Now what?
Alex: Let's head back to where he came from.

They head back down the hallway, and head to that same circular door. They press the button again and the door opens. This time, there's no one on the other side. They head inside. The room itself is spherical, lined with doors. Of course none are are labeled.

Sam: ..Why do people hate labeling doors?
Alex: Because it'd be too easy.
Sam: Oh.

They pick a random door and head in. It seems to be a locker room or something. They walk down it, and Alex stops, pointing at a locker?

Alex: Look't that.
Sam: Eh?

The locker had "SANDERS" printed above it.

Alex: Thinking what I'm thinking?
Sam: Probably not.

Alex pulls the locker open. A few minutes later, he's now dressed in Agent Sander's extra suit. Suprisingly, it fits Alex perfectly. Alex puts in the ear piece, puts on the glasses, and puts on the arm band.

Sam: Okay. Now what am I supposed to do?
Alex: I haven't quite thought that far ahead.

He thinks for a moment.

Alex: I've got an idea. Turn around.

Reluctantly, Sam turns, only to have Alex slam handcuffs around Sam's wrists.

Sam: HEY, what'd you do that for?
Alex: So that we can get around without too much issue.

Alex "drags" Sam around back into the spherical room and heads for another random door.

RE: A Traveller, a Cargo Hauler, and a Ship Dealer Walk Into a Bar

Later in the shop, a bright green light starts and ends abruptly. Now standing there is a TCF agent.

Agent: Where are Jorgenson and Dean?

Dave shrugs.

Dave: Beats me. They disappeared an hour or so ago.

Leon appears stealthily behind the agent and drops his fist like a rock on the back of his neck. He's out cold.

Dave: What'd you do that for?

Leon takes the armband off the agent.

Leon: I'm going to see where this thing goes. Suits that keep you in the dark despite your working for them get on my nerves.

Fate runs into the room.

Fate: I'll come with you.
Leon: You hope. I don't know how this thing works.
Fate: Maybe if we both touch it.

Fate puts her hand on the band. Leon begins mashing buttons.

They are soon engulfed in a bright green light. Dave stares, dumbfounded.

Leon and Fate materialize in a room aboard a large spacecraft. Almost every light appears to be out; only emergency lights remain, flickering against the darkness.

Suddenly, a creature that appears to possess nothing in the way of skin or eyes jumps out of the overwhelming darkness. It soon eats a burst of 9mm and .40 S&W.

Leon: ... What did they do?
Fate: I think we should have brought bigger guns. Let's go back.

She touches the armband again as Leon mashes buttons. Nothing happens. Leon's facial expression doesn't change. He utters a low hm.

Fate switches on her weapon light. Leon, lacking a mounted light, pulls a Maglite 2-cell flashlight from his pants pocket and switches it on.

Fate: You first.

They make their way across the room to a door that has been ripped open. Right as they step through into the equally dark hallway, a short yelp is heard nearby followed by four gun shots. Moments later, rapid breathing is heard coming from one corridor. They turn to it.

Leon: Cover my back.

Leon keeps his Glock and Maglite focused down the hall. Sam and Alex turn a corner and are startled by the beam. Alex takes a shot wildly toward the source of the light, luckily it misses.

Sam: Leon?!

Alex looks sheepish for a moment.

Leon: What happened here?
Sam: Not right now. Run!

Sam and Alex start to run by, but Leon stops them.

Leon: We can hole up in this room. This is the only way in.

A creature comes around the corner Sam and Alex just did, screeching. Leon turns his head to it and nonchalantly fires a burst into its head. It drops. They all turn and enter the room.

Leon: What did you do? What are those things?
Alex: We didn't do anything!
Sam: They're presumably clones of some creature we found on a previous mission for the TCF.
Alex: We were just checking the place out when the lights went out and everything suddenly went Alien.

Leon holds up the armband he procured.

Leon: Why doesn't this thing work anymore?
Sam: We think the TCF found out they were missing one and went into lockdown, disabling any outgoing teleportation.
Fate: So we're stuck here?
Alex: For now.

Someone can be heard screaming down the hallway outside.

Sam: In here!

His frantic footsteps can be heard, followed by the gallops of an unknown number of creatures. The man goes through the torn-open door, but trips, hitting the floor hard. Two creatures come through, the first jumping onto the man's back.

Leon, Fate, Alex, and Sam simultaneously shred the creatures, their riddled corpses slump to the floor. Leon and Alex pull the one off the man. He's still alive, but scratched up. Alex helps him up. He appears very shaken.

Man: ... Wow.
Alex: You okay--?

Alex is cut off by the sound of Leon shooting one of the dead creatures in the head.

Alex: What the heck?
Leon: It moved.

Several screeches like nails on a chalkboard can be heard outside the door, followed by claws being banged and scratched on the floor.

Sam: Sounds like they're fighting.
Leon: Have they done it before?
Sam: Yeah. We've come across a number of them fighting... only to be interrupted by human prey.
Leon: We need to get out of this place.
Alex: We've determined we're on a large space-faring research vessel.
Sam: And it's possible there is a mass teleportation device somewhere, but we can't find it.
Alex: We had just found it on some schematics when the main power went out and creatures popped out of those fragging tubes.
Leon: Do you know how many there are?

The unnamed man finally speaks up.

Man: We cloned thirty of them. So there are thirty-one, total.

Alex gets all up in his business and slag.

Alex: You are insane! What are you cloning them for?!
Man: I don't know. The TCF give us orders and we do it.
Alex: Great. Just an unquestioning follower!
Sam: Not like we haven't been just doing what we're told by the TCF.
Alex: But at least--
Leon: Not now. Let's go.
Alex: You lead the way, Mr. Schwarzenrussel.

Without waiting another second, Leon heads out the door, and follows it up with more gun fire as he engages the battling creatures. Everybody else quickly follows him out to help. They finally waste the creatures.

Sam: So, which way is the teleportation room, Mr. Man?
Man: It's down this hall and through a secured door.
Sam: Do we have clearance?
Man: I don't, but one of your bands might.

Another multiple screams from down the hall the man just pointed out. Leon runs down it. Unused to Leon's abruptness, everyone else takes a second to begin following. They round a corner and nearly run into the man and woman from which the screams came. Two feet away are two more creatures. Down the hall another creature is seen feeding on a human corpse. The nearest one jumps at Leon. He elbows it in the face, knocking it out of the air, as Alex unloads his procured Lanus Arms 8.27x25mm M42 into it, killing it. The rest finish off the other. The far one appears too occupied with its meal, so they choose to move on, two more survivors in tow.

RE: A Traveller, a Cargo Hauler, and a Ship Dealer Walk Into a Bar

Woman: What are those things?!
Alex: Dunno. These morons decided to clone them and now they're paying for it. We're all paying for it.

They arrive at a door. One of the creatures is gnawing on a dead man in front of the door. Leon promptly fires a burst into the creature's neck and head.

Alex: Looks like that guy had the same idea.

He walks over to the dead man. The corpse is holding an armband. The bulb next to the door is lit up in red.

Sam: And he didn't have clearance.
Alex: Poor guy.
Sam: Just assume he was working on the cloning operation and don't feel too bad about it.

Sam holds his own armband in front of the bulb and presses the clear button. The bulb blinks and returns to its red color. He looks at Leon.

Sam: Try yours.

Leon does the same thing. The bulb glows green and the door opens. Alex and the three survivors are all visibly relieved. There are some emergency lights on inside the teleporter room.

Man: I've operated it before for emergency training. I might have remembered how to use it...
Alex: Might. You're going to teleport us into a mountain.
Man: The teleporter has failsafes against that.
Alex: Really? Wide Eyes Technology designers with some sense! That's--

He breaks into song.

Alex: It's not unuuusuallll!

Everybody gives him a look. He shrugs. There's a snarl behind them.

Sam: Good going.

Alex swings around and fires wildly. At most two rounds hit one of the three creatures standing near the doorway. This only serves to anger them and they charge. Two more appear in the doorway. Any armed personnel in the room open fire. The creatures begin diving at them. Just before a large mouth can clamp down around the teleporter operator's head, all of the human survivors disappear in a flash, suddenly finding themselves on the surface of Flistna. A few parts of a creature are lying around, bleeding out. The woman pukes.

Alex: Welcome aboard the Odyssey, SG-1.
Sam: Huh?
Alex: Nevermind.
Teleporter operator: ...I have no clue where we are.

Sam whips out his cell phone.

Alex: Technology. Gotta love it.
Sam: ...I don't have a reception.

Alex stares blankly. Leon has already begun scaling a tree.

Alex: What is he doing?
Fate: Looking for civilization. If we see city, that's where we go.

Leon lands on the ground with a thud.

Leon: Follow me.

He begins walking east. Always... to the east...

RE: A Traveller, a Cargo Hauler, and a Ship Dealer Walk Into a Bar

After walking for a while, they stop and peer through a group of trees. Down in a valley,t here was a plume of smoke rising out of a camp fire with a handful of tents around it. The camp seemed pretty quiet. There were a couple of men sitting around the fire cooking a meal. Another man was leaning against a tree whittling something out of wood. THe rest seemed noware in sight. The tents were old and tattered, and there were several large stacks of wood behind one of the tents. Whoever these people were, they've obviously been here a while, and plan to stay.

Alex: I wonder what they're doing down there.
Sam: Maybe they know where to go.

Sam starts to walk past the trees, but is quickly yanked back by Leon.

Leon: Yeah. But maybe they'll kill you and drink your blood.
Sam: ....Or maybe they wont?

Leon stares at him cold and hard.

Leon: ..Maybe.

Sam stares oddly at him for a moment,t hen starts down the hill.

RE: A Traveller, a Cargo Hauler, and a Ship Dealer Walk Into a Bar

Leon grabs Sam's shoulder and holds him back.

Leon: I know where we're going. There's a city ten miles off.

He looks at the sky for a second.

Leon: If we move now, we can make it tonight.
Sam: Are you kidding? The sun will be down in two hours.
Leon: Which is why I said "tonight" and not "by nightfall."
Sam: ...Fair enough.

Leon scowls, looking at nothing in particular. There's a moment of silence.

Leon: We should wait until morning to proceed. Go make contact. We'll cover you from here.

Sam blinks.

Sam: Alone?
Leon: Yes.

Alex rests his M42 on a mossy log and gazes into the small camp.

Sam: ...Okay then.
Leon: Keep line of sight clear.

Sam proceeds, again, down the hill.

Woman: You're going to kill these people?
Leon: If they're a threat.
Woman: This is their home. He's the invader.

Leon ignores her, Glock 18 pointed into the valley. The woman's hands slap to her sides and she backs off.
