RE: The Waiting Game

Jonall watched as the machine gunner he had targeted was shredded by shells of the third machine gun.
Jonall swiftly moved his sights to the third machine gunner and to his surprise he had seen a new figure placed on the mounted weapons position.

Jonall kept aim on the new machine gunner and waited to see who was victorious out of this little skirmish hoping no one realized he let of the first shot.

He could see the other marauders were confused and the Orcs looked like they were about to pounce.

He kept his target firm on the third machine gun position.

RE: The Waiting Game

Asmod's axe and Engell's hammer spring swiftly into action, making quick work of the two men with the chains. Needless to say, the rest of the marauders are not very happy.

Knowing they don't stand a chance against their own machine gun, the marauders begin piling out of the trucks to get behind the engine blocks and wheel wells. The latter doesn't quite  work out for them as lead rips unforgivingly through the side of the truck.

Malcolm: Come on, let's go!

At Malcolm's shout, the orcs realize that it would be wise to take one of the trucks and leave rather than sticking around until the marauders are all dead. They hurry to the truck and climb in, Asmod in the driver's seat. It takes him a moment to figure out how to get the truck going, but soon does and mashes the gas pedal.

RE: The Waiting Game

Jonall watches as the the two orcs and the human drive off, the three remaining maruaders started firing pot shots at the escaping truck.

Jonall quickly set his rifle to full burst and unleashed led at the last of the maruaders.
Dropping down dead, Jonall skids down the sandy dunes.
He searches the bodies and the trucks for anything of use.
He finds a map, several bottles of water, food rashens and one remaining truck that is working.

On the map Jonall marks down roughly were he thought his fighter had crashed and worked out the three that had escaped were heading towards a settlement.

Jonall had been to this settlement before, it had alot of trade agreements with Rahil.

Last time he was there it was during a time when he was hunted by many bounty hunters hired by Rahil, but that was nearly a year ago.
Jonall decided it was the best chance of finding the parts he needed to repair his ship or even buy/steal a new one.

Jonall jumped in the remaining working truck and followed the tracks that headed towards the settlement.

RE: The Waiting Game

Malcolm watches their back for a few minutes. Satisfied that the marauders don't seem to be pursuing, he sits down to attempt to fight the light headedness.

It takes all of fifteen minutes to reach the settlement. An air horn blows as they approach and several men, armed with fairly large rifles, block them in, forcing Asmod to either stop or run them over.

He chooses to stop.

Malcolm weighs that the guns are not pointed at them, so he delays manning the M240 above him.

Armed man: Are you with the Red Droogs?
Asmod: Who are they?
Armed man: The truck you're driving belongs to them.

He points to the large, hand-painted insignia on the hood.

Asmod: We merely... found this truck. In the desert. It was abandoned.
Armed man: Okay, it's good you killed them, they cause us no end of trouble. Alright, go on.

He waves for the men to clear the road.

Asmod: Ah, do you have a medic in town?

The armed man notices Malcolm looking at him from the back of the truck.

Armed man: Got a big red cross on it on the left. Just keep going and you'll see it.
Asmod: I thank you, human.

He heads into town, looking for the clinic.

RE: The Waiting Game

Jonall watched from the distance as the other vechile entered the settlement, Jonall steadily put on the gas and headed towards the settlement slowly.

Several men approached Jonall's vehicle with fairly large rifles.

Armed man: Stop Red Droog!

Jonall slowed his vehicle right down and jumped out with his hands up.

Jonall:I am not Red Droog, I am not Red Droog!
Armed man: Look at your vehicle!

The Armed man pointed towards the insignia of the vechile with his rifle.

Jonall: No you fool, I am a political agent from Perrenor, I was sent here to stop a weapons trade between an enemy agent, Rahill and the Droog till I was attacked by the Droog and the enemies Orc thrall.

The armed men looked at each other in shock.

Jonall: The skirmish was fierce but the enemy agent and orcs escaped me... Have they entered the settlement?
Armed man: Yes, Yes they just entered now? They were seeking medical attention.
Jonall: Ok, Do not rush into anything, I need to see the settlements leader, These people are very, very dangerous.
Armed man: Yes yes of course.
Jonall: I want one of your men to keep a eye on them and follow them and I will all so need a space faring vessel of some kind, Here have 300 tape for the troubles I bare on you.

Jonall gives the armed man 300 tape and walks into the settlement with his new friend towards a structure that looks like a political building of some kind.

RE: The Waiting Game

Asmod pulls off to the side of the path near the clinic and stops the engine. He and Engell climb out and assist Malcolm out of the back, helping him into the clinic.

The clinic's facade was not telling. The inside is actually rather nice, hopefully meaning Malcolm would receive quality medical attention in a clean environment. It's rather empty at the moment, so they bring Malcolm directly to the receptionist.

Asmod: This man requires medical attention.
Engell: Obviously, as we have brought him to a medical facility.
Asmod: Indeed. His leg has been skewered by the foul blade of a failing starship hull.
Receptionist: Uhh...
Malcolm: There's a big piece of metal stuck in me.

The receptionist nods, mouthing "oh" and hits a button to ring the doctor. She points to a door to their left.

Receptionist: Please take the patient there, and please fill this out.

She sets a form on the counter. Engell nods for Asmod to help Malcolm into the room and picks up a pen.

He has no clue what half of this means.

Engell: I have no clue what half of this means.

RE: The Waiting Game

The armed man was on the radio communicator to whom Jonall could guess was their security control.
As Jonall and the armed man came to the doors of the political building, the wide white doors was opened and an elderly bearded man covered in gold and gems was sitting in a grand seat on the far end.

Jonall and the armed man walked up to what could be called the chieftain of the settlement.

Jonall fed him the slightly fantasised story of him, the Perrenor agent trying to stop an agent and his two thralls trading weapons with Rahill.

Chieftain: If it is true what you say, then we will help but I, Great chieftain of this settlement expect payment from Perrenor government.

Jonall: Yes great chieftain, Perrenor will be happy to supply you with what ever needs you have in exchange for a ship and these men taken prisoner.

Chieftain: Hmmmmm, and what do you give me now for exchange for ship and help?

Jonall: Well you can keep both the armed trucks and on completion I can give you the coordinates for both crashed vehicles, Including a communication channel to our chief in command.

Chieftain: Very well, I have old space hawk... It is yours, The cargo bay will work as jail for now.
In return I want weapons and medical supplies to be granted to us by your governing body.

Jonall thought to himself, he may have just made a deal with this settlement and moon street plus has a new ship and some slaves for sale... smiling inside Jonall couldn't believe his change of luck.

Jonall: That is fine great chieftain, I will talk to Mr Roberts... He is my governor of sorts, May we begin?

Chieftain: Yes yes, this guard will show you to your new vessel, you?

The chieftain looked at an armed man and made a hand signal.

Armed Man: Last known location was in the medical centre, I will have a 12 man team to surround the building and take them men dead or alive!

Jonall coughs*

Jonall: Preferably alive
Jonall smiled.

Chieftain: Yes alive if possible, take there legs, arms and shins out but do not risk your own lifes for theirs, if they are a threat kill them!

The armed man runs of toward the medical centre were 11 other men follow, Jonall is led out the building by a armed guard to what seems to be a old MTR-82 Spacehawk, It is being currently prepped for Jonall by several of the Chieftains workers.

RE: The Waiting Game

Asmod comes out of the room and walks over to Engell, who is still scratching his head over the form. The receptionist is attempting to help him, but has to explain every small detail. Asmod interrupts.

Asmod: Excuse me, do you have a subspace communicator?
Receptionist: Umm...? No, I'm sorry. That sounds like something Masef might have though.
Asmod: Ah. I must contact my ship. We have crashed out in the desert, you see, as a malevolent pirate attacked us, and now we have no ship on this planet.
Receptionist: I'm sorry to hear that, but I can't really help.
Asmod: Understandable, human. Warchief, I will sit.

Engell nods with a grunt and returns to looking intensely at the form in front of him. Asmod carefully sits in the widest seat he can find.

It's almost been twenty minutes. Finally, the door opens and a man pushes Malcolm out in a wheelchair, with his leg straight out in front of him. Malcolm looks very unhappy. The man looks at the orcs.

Man: From what I can tell, the shrapnel in his leg hasn't caused any life-threatening damage at the moment. His arteries are fine. But it's in a bad spot, and we're just not equipped to remove it. It looks like every time he takes a step, the shrapnel digs further into his muscle, so make sure he stays off of it.

The orcs nod, not really catching any of it.

There's a thump. Malcolm looks at the door. A dark gray cylinder is rolling across the floor. Instinctively, he looks away, closes his eyes, and covers his ears. He doesn't have time to tell the others before the huge bang. He looks back at the door to see four men with fairly large rifles moving in toward them.

RE: The Waiting Game

Jonall finishes prepping his new ship, it's appearance is in a bit of a state due to the hot sandy conditions of were it has been kept but the ship systems seem to be working fine.

Armed man: Mr Jonall, our men have engaged the enemy and are meeting resistance.
Jonall: Change of plan, I need five workers to be in the cargo bay... we are going to collect some bounty for your chieftain.
Armed man: Yes sir

The Armed man orders five workers into the cargo bay and Jonall closes the door.

Jonall: You need to surround all exits of the building and give them a constant swarm of fire, use cover as I have heard they are excellent marksman.
Armed man: Yes Mr Jonall, I will join them.

The Armed man gave the order of the 12 soldiers to surround the building and give constant fire through his radio.
He started to jog to make his way to the medical centre.

Jonall: I will give you some air support!
Jonall shouted.

Jonall got in the cockpit of the space hawk and started firing the thrusters, lifting high Jonall began to see the skirmish from a far.
He put some thrust into the ship until he was coming ever closer to the hospital.
Quickly he slowed down the thrust and strafed the vessel rotating around the hospital.
Engaging the weapon systems he let out a solid burst from the 40mm gauss cannon, ripping holes in the hospital walls.

Jonall: Ha ha take that!

Jonall speed the Space hawk in the direction of his old Grey Wolf fighter, Leaving the settlement far away as he began to land near his damaged fighter.

RE: The Waiting Game

The entry team, upon seeing that Malcolm was completely unaffected by the flashbang and pointing the gaping maw of a .700 Nitro Express handgun at them, had retreated back out the door without him even firing a shot.

The orcs hit the deck. The blinded, deafened nurse begins to panic.

Malcolm: Just get down!

Realizing the nurse can't hear him, he spins his wheelchair around and pushes the nurse to the floor.

Nurse: Oh jeez, don't kill me!
Malcolm: Slag it.

He remembers that his Pulse Rifle is still in the truck. The doctor comes out of the back.

Doctor: What the heck was--

The walls are swiftly being perforated by lead-based projectiles moving at extremely high speed. The whizzing around his head tells him to get down.

Doctor: What the heck? What the heck?!
Malcolm: Asmod, can you hear yet?!
Asmod: WHAT?!
Malcolm: Nevermind.

He pushes himself out of the wheelchair, to the floor, trying to formulate a plan. A loud boom accompanies a hole bursting through the roof and the explosion of a floor tile. A few more follow, but it soon fades to the ceaseless small arms fire from outside. Every window has already been destroyed.

Malcolm: Doctor.
Doctor: What?!
Malcolm: We need a way out of here. We have to assume they've got the place surrounded. What can you do for me?
Doctor: Who are you?!
Malcolm: Not who they think I am, I'll wager. I can't explain right now. We need to get out before we get ventilated.
Doctor: Ugh... Oh jeez.
