Sublight engines are the engines that all modern spacecraft are equipped with. They use a newly developed method of propulsion that uses small, inexpensive fuel rods as a power source. Eight of these amazing rods can fuel the sublight engines, life support, and the general power requirements of a small ship for up to one light year (about 5.8 trillion miles/9.3 trillion kilometers) sublight / three light years (about 17.6 trillion miles/28.3 trillion kilometers) hyperspace.

At full speed (around 10 million miles per hour, or 16.3 million kilometers per hour), interplanetary travel time inside a single star system ranges from six to eighteen hours, depending on the destination's orbit and current position.
