RE: Tenga Cuidado con Piedras

Tucker: MMmm... Batteries and such.

He figures he'll come back to that later, if Star doesn't seem too bothered by it.  He wouldn't do anything too her that would leave her worse off than she already was.

Tucker: Well, you're back to looking tip top at least.  And... you glimmer, apparently.  I wonder if you glow in the dark too.

He laughs a little at the thought.

Tucker: I think we'll need a large computer to hook you up too... don't want to overload the mainframe or anything.

He ponders this.

Tucker: I think we'll have to go to the mall for that.

He offers Star his arm in an almost gentleman-like manner.

Tucker: You up for a little shopping excursion?

Star slowly stands up as he mentions the computer, seeing as there didn't seem to be much in his little shop as it was ment for fixing hardware more than software. She gives a slight tilt of her head as he offers his arm and seem to just look at him for a few moments.

Apparently comfortable with the gesture, she insteads grabs his hand, gently wrapping her fingers around his palm... and in a strange way, she almost seemed human for a moment or two and could've easily given the young mechanic chills from it.

She nods slightly, keeping ahold of his hand. "I didn't realize there was a shopping center within the colony," she simply remarks.

Tucker laughs softly and did, indeed, get chills up his spine when Star took his hand.  He savors the moment.

Tucker: I suppose you wouldn't... we've all been stuck here for the past three months, and you've only just arrived.  I guess I'm just used to everyone I interact with knowing... this place.

He scratches the back of his head.  In case Star hasn't noticed yet, this seems to be his nervous habit.  ...Just thought it was the narrator's duty to mention it.

When he pulls his fingers away he seems to notice something and quickly wipes his fingers on his pants.

Tucker: Baaad dandruff... It's like a ski-slope back there.

He laughs again, but it doesn't sound quiet right.

Balinor is examining men on shiney metal trays.  This is the first batch of deceased.  For some reason, she hadn't been allowed to burn the bodies and there are only a few refridgerators left open for the remaining doomed.  But now she finds it is almost beneficial for her, since it aides in her examination more than the pictures she's been stocking.

She realizes that maybe she is being a little insensitive to the dead and brings her hands together in some strange symbolic sign that very few people would actually deign to understand.

William walks in on it and lofts a brow.

William: Isn't that...

Balinor looks up from her work and shoots William a look that speaks of murder.

William: Right... How's it going?
Balinor: Almost done with these.
William: Find anything?
Balinor: Nothing that I hadn't found before.
William: What are you looking for?  Anything I can help with?
Balinor: I need a starting point.
William: You need a what?
Balinor: A starting point.  Where did this start?
William: I can ask one of the doctor's who got sick first...
Balinor: I already know.
William: Than what is it your looking for exactly?
Balinor: A clue... A change.

William shuts his mouth and simply watches Balinor as she finishes her first series of examinations.

"As long as you're not infected, dandruff can go away with special shampoos, if you're that worried about it," she says and walks a little closer, to slightly nudge him. "If you are feeling all right, shall we continue to this shopping center to find the computer? I ... look forward to knowing what you see in my code, yourself. Perhaps something I can't understand as my view is likely scewed a bit."

She then just waits, not bothering to nudge him again and watches, still grasping his hand gently and noticing he seemed nervous around her.

Tucker grins crookedly.

Tucker: I'm not worried about it.  I just thought it...

He stops and just shrugs.

Tucker: Yes.  To the mall we shall go.

He nudges her back and pulls her along with him to the center.

The glass doors slide open, a sweet voice sounds over the intercom welcoming them.  It even goes so far as to ask them what they are shopping for.

Tucker: Nothing, Chel.  We just need access to the mainframes in security.

Chel doesn't address this.  Tucker continues to guide Star.  They take an elevator up one floor and the doors open on the wrong side of the box, revealing the security booth.  The room is a wall of computer screens and a very large panel with a very complex control system.

Tucker: This is actually the security for the whole place... well, each tower has its own booth, but this is the main one.

A generic woman's face appears on the center screen.  For a generated image, she's very attractive.

Tucker: Hi, Chel.
Chel: Hello, Tucker.  Please proceed.
Tucker: Right... aaah.  I just need a lot of space.
Chel: I will clear you a lot of space.
Tucker: Thanks.

A few seconds of silence pass.

Chel: 420 Exabytes of space have been cleared.
Tucker: Thank you.

Tucker finds a spare USB cable and, after gaining consent, plugs it tenderly into the port on Star's neck.

Star moves her hair and unclasps Tucker's hand as he inserts the USB port, Star having followed the whole way while being rather quiet.

All of the monitors except where the generic woman's face - apparently dibbed Chel - all lit up suddenly, displaying layers and layers of information. Most of them seemed to be menus leading to one program or another, here or there, some being the more basic systems such as recieving radio signals while others were obviously a bit higher tech, such as the Particle Shield. There was also what seemed to be dubbed the S.K.E. Systems and the other ones that stood out were labeled Phantom, Cell Adjusting Systems, Particle Beam, Cloaking, Sound Dampening, and Personal Teleportation.

Of course, the menus themselves seemed perfectly fine and were all in common - or rather the common language of the galaxy - the human language.

Tucker stares wide-eyed at the screen for a bit before letting out a slow breath he didn't know he'd been holding.

Tucker: Wow.

He starts playing with the menus a little, rearranging them on the screen so they make a more visual sense.  Everything he didn't understand or even think he could comprehend went on the right-most screen, those things which seemed easiest were on the left-most, and everything in the middle was some degree of difficulty between easy and impossible.

Tucker: Chel, run a diagnostic to determine which programs are running correctly, and which ones aren't.
Chel: Passcode Required.

Tucker turns to Star.

Tucker: Umm... do you know your password?

Star watched as the menus were moved this way and that and looked to Tucker when he inquired about the password. Silently Star looked back to the multiple monitors for a moment in silence before the sounds of soft little clicks echoed from the monitors. Each menu was apparently being accessed and closed out of at computer speed and it was likely no other than Star doing this as the screens blicked in and out and information shifted through the monitors.

Before he would know it, he'd see it all blank out for a moment before a large - a very large - array of number began pouring down the monitors. Every second that went by a column of them would just stop, clear itself, and display a single letter or number or even a symbol. Within a minute some sort of string of these symbols and letters were displayed.

"Chel, enter in password copied from clipboard 001 and run a diagnostic as requested."

The screen blanked out again and suddenly a full disgnostic began running it's course through Star's systems ...

If Tucker's eyes could have gotten wider, his eyeballs would have popped out of his head.

Tucker: Nice.

He squints a little at the sharp pang that just started up in his temples.

Tucker: I think all those numbers gave me a headache.  You wait here... You probably benefit from this just as much as I do. If you can figure anything out while I'm gone...

He feels bad about leaving her, but he could really use some painkillers.

Tucker: The store's just down the stairs.

He's gone and back in less than five minutes.  When he returns he looks at the screen and Chel's progress.  She's more than half way done, and Tucker realizes just how extensive Star's programming really is.

Star just watches the screen as Tucker leaves and comes back, gently folding her hands behind her back patiently as the minutes go by. When he returns she asks, "are you feeling all right?"

Tucker is just given enough time to answer causally and by the time he's done, Chel all but done as the screens show one specific program in general in which the actual code looks mostly like zero's going down most of it. At the last few lines, however, the code seems to consistantly change. Ones, zeros, symbols, A's & Z's, nothing ever seemed to stay the same for more than ten seconds.

"Diagnostic can only be 95% completed. S.K.E. Systems program is impossible to diagnos," Chel's voice alerted the both of them. Star looks over to Tucker, curious what his take was on this.
