Take back the city

Deon rubbed his eyes slowly. It had been a long day and he had been driving around for hours. The night sky had come up, and the city burst into life.
"I guess it's time to call it a day then." He thought to himself, turning his taxi towards it's home.

Halfway through the trip, his holocommunicator notified him of an incoming call. Flipping it open, Deon placed it on the dashboard so he could keep an eye on the road. Ghost's beaming face projected above the device.
"Heeeeeey, Cross! My Man! Where you at?!"
"Just pullin' the cab in Ghost, what's up?"
"Maaaaaan, you gotta come hit the clubs with me bro!"

Deon smilied at the thought of the Kiefan's druken state.
"Yeah, yeah, I'll be there in a sec" Deon muttered, clicking the communicator off and putting it in his pocket.

Finally reaching his destination, Deon parked the hover cab on the platform and walked out of the building.
"Thank you Deon Carter, have a nice day" a computerized voice spoke.

Embarking on his short walk home, he noticed particular commotion coming from a pub across the street. Suddenly, a bulky figure was sent crashing through the door, stumbing drunkenly around the street. After a short while of staring, Deon was able to identify the figure as a rather large and aggresive orc. Obviously, that was a short while to long as the creature was now making it's way towards him.
"WHAT ARE YOU LOOKIN' AT BOY?!!" It yelled in a drunken rage, increasing it's pace.

Deon quickly drew his Kimber Custom and trained it on the target, but the orc had already come close enough to attack. Picking up the human easily with a single hand, he tossed him into a nearby wall.
Deon picked himself up, brushing off the bits of brick on his shoulder. Before he could take aim again, his opponent had ripped a garbage disposer unit from it's mount and tossed it toward him. Deon's military instinct kick in and he dived out of the way, landing in a roll.
The orc had again come within striking range, this time punching at Deon, who swiftly dodged the attack and followed it with a kick in the head. Just as he was about to finish the creature off, it simply fell to the ground and dozed off.

Rather dissapointed that he didn't even get to fire a single round, Deon holstered his weapon and continued walking.

[15 minutes later]

Ghost's boredom was interuppted by the quite whizz of the automatic door coming up.
"Where the heck have you been?" he grumbled, not bothering to look up.
"I need a vacation" Deon replied, massaging his bleeding head.
"I've been waiting for hours man"
"It's been 20 minutes Ghost"
".....Whatever...."
Deon staggered over to the kitchen table, at which point Ghost actually realised his friend's condition.
"Slag, what happened to you?"
"Druken orc" Deon replied
"....Whatever..." Ghost sighed, returning his attention to the blank TV screen.

"Oh yeah, this came in the mail for ya" Ghost shouted, lethargically grabbing a package from under the couch and throwing it in Deon's general direction.
Barely catching it, Deon quickly unwrapped it, revealing a TXI Fisher Systems Underbarrel laser pointer. Drawing his weapon, he clicked it on and off a couple of times before testing and adjusting it on a nearby wall.

RE: Take back the city

Asmod awakened to the noise of a rowdy bar, country music blasting out the open door. He figured he must not have been out too long.

He wondered where his companions, Malcolm Griggs and Engell Hammerskull were. Abandoned him for getting drunk and picking a fight? He stopped and pondered that for a second. Interesting that he even remembered that.

Interesting that he even got drunk.

No matter. He was sober as a judge now. He felt some compulsion to find the man whom he tried to fight and apologize; especially since, if he recalled correctly, guns were in some way involved.

Maybe he'd stay here and wait for that guy to pass back through.

He yawned.

“Ready to go Ghost?” asked Deon as he equipped himself for a night out.

Ghost did not reply, instead flopping himself of the couch and onto his feet to imply the answer. Being aware that he would have to cross the pub where he encountered an Orc moments ago, Deon was sure to take his handgun.

RE: Take back the city

Travis leaned heavily against the wall behind him, and yawned, the Orc's was a surprisingly contagious.

He glanced down the street, then pulled his bowler lower, to shade his eyes.  He had been there since the man and the orc had their short brawl, waiting on a client, who by that time apparently decided to avoid payment, completely....

As the orc stood up he had drawn both of his guns, determined to take it down if it decided to cause more trouble, but put them away as the creature sat down.

Resolving to see how the orc's end of this played out, he pulled out a pair of antique revolvers, and began playing with them, passing time until the orc decided to leave, or the son of a *censored* client decided to show up, whichever happened first.

RE: Take back the city

The bar had a small outdoor patio with tables. Small tables. Asmod looked almost cartoonish, sitting there at the small table, twiddling his thumbs.

He had already noticed the man leaning against the wall. He seemed to have a fascination with brandishing firearms in public. While unusual, there was nothing illegal about it, though Asmod didn't know this; it just didn't matter to him.

The man from before would probably not come back, so he merely hoped that perhaps Malcolm and Engell would.

He leaned back against the railing behind him separating the sidewalk and the patio. The metal lawn chair flexed harshly under his weight, but held. He unclipped his war hammer from his belt and began lightly prodding the ground in boredom.

Ghost had been strangely untalkative on the pair's walk through the deserted back streets. Just as Deon was about to ask why, two bulky figures appeared. Remembering his previous encounter, Deon drew his handgun and dropped his arm inconspicuously against his side.

The two figures - who were notably much larger than Deon and Ghost - were a human and an orc, looking rather out of place in their current environment. "Human, have you happened to cross another orc? We seem to have lost our companion" asked one as he approached. Holstering his weapon, Deon told of his encounter of a drunken orc moments ago. Obviously doubting the assailant's identity, the pair asked if Deon could take them to where he last saw said orc.

Reluctantly agreeing, Deon set off in the direction of the pub.

Travis stopped twirling his revolvers, and looked down the street suddenly.  Wondering whether the four men who appeared were his client, finally showing up, or a party for the orc.  He realized it was the latter, seeing the man who had been attacked by the orc earlier, and holstered the revolvers, then crossed his arms, and watched the situation, keeping an eye out for his client.

RE: Take back the city

As the group aproached the pub, a figure appered out from the alleyway of the pub. His name was the MK2 Assasin Droid, and he had been sent to eliminate a certain 'Ghost' by a client, who had given no reasons, but then again, bounty hunters don't ask questions. The man hadn't offered a lot, but still, money was money, no matter how much of it you got.

The MK2 aimed his rifle at the target, but then lowered it, thinking 'not today, not now'

RE: Take back the city

Asmod recognized his warchief and their human companion. The two people with them were another story; one of them seemed somehow vaguely familiar.

Engell vaulted over the wrought iron fence separating the bar's patio and the sidewalk.

Engell: Doomfinger, what is this I hear of you attacking a man?
Asmod: I believe it to be true. Evidently, I was extremely intoxicated.
Engell: How could you do such a thing? It is a dishonor!
Asmod: I am aware, warchief! Now that I have sobered, I am in fact waiting here for my victim's return so that I may apologize.
Engell: Well, young one;

He gestured toward Deon.

Engell: I believe this to be the man for whom you are waiting.

RE: Take back the city

(OOC: sorry for the long post, I guess I got a little carried away... most of it's a conversation though, so I guess if it helps >.<)

Travis watched the five intently as the group merged, but as the Deon had stepped forward, Travis leapt forward from the wall, on high alert.

Gun loading clicks aren't supposed to come from alleys.

Travis quietly slipped a beam saber out of one holster, and drew a pistol from another, then stepped away from the wall, watching the alley.

A thin, bony man stepped out from the alley, pointing an blaster at Travis, wearing a sadistic smile.

"Travis, you don't know when to give up.  I've been sitting in that alley hiding from you for about an hour now, hoping that you'd just leave...."

The man waved an arm behind him and five more men walked out, and surrounding Travis.

"But no..." The man dragged out the 'no' to emphasize it, "You have to sit around and actually wait for me to pay you."

Travis looked around at the different men pointing weaponry at him.

Travis looked back at the man, and secretly pulled a pin off one of the smoke grenades hanging from strips on his belt, "You're one to talk... hiring five extra men to kill one bounty hunter."

"I happen to be a Businessman at heart, Arc.  I have it worked out so that these men recieve what you were offered, and I only lose half of what I would've if your target were still alive."

"You really know how to tick off a guy."

"I know how to cut costs," said the man, who then took a step forward.

Travis dropped the smoke grenade, then ducked, and kicked the legs out from under one of the hired guns, then grabbed the man as he fell, moved around behind him, and put the pistol against the man's jaw, and waited for the smoke to clear, pulling the hired hand away from the circle slightly.

The client kicked the grenade away, and the smoke cleared quicker, revealing the new situation to the man, who looked over the pair across the street.

The man then laughed.

"You actually think I care if one of these idiots dies?  I hope you have a good insurance plan."

Travis looked at the other four men who were looking between themselves, then at the client, lowering their weapons slightly, looking at the man in Travis' hold.

Travis pulled backwards, away from the five remaining enemies.  Unfortunately the client had the upper hand in numbers and firepower... unless....

Travis glanced over at the five, who, he hoped, had been distracted by the show for the last few minutes.

"Hey, mind helping an outnumbered man out?  I don't like the odds of six on one at the moment.  This guy pointing the blaster at me is my client, who hired me first to find and take down a man who has been blackmailing his company for thousands per week.  Unfortunately, I failed to remember that he had a dark streak, and enjoys betraying those he works with."

The client laughed manically, "You compliment me Travis."

The client then glared at the group, and looked them over, then cast the group from his thoughts.  They couldn't cause much trouble... At least not before his men could kill them, he thought.

He failed to notice the men behind him looking between the client, Travis, and the five in front of the bar.
