RE: The Mist of Wist

Szyren shifts from foot to foot, sour that she wasn't offered pirate tea.

Szyren: I thought we were here because you flew into the hanger unbidden.

Szyren thinks about that for a minute and then figures out what she's supposed to say.

Szyren: Oh! We're here because the leprechaun told us to come.

No, that’s not it either.

Szyren: Except the leprechaun was a pirate and he only mentioned that we might profit from coming.  He didn’t mention you at all, though.  Maybe he hasn’t gotten out much in a while.  I think he was kinda growing around that chair.

She reflects and remembers the napkin that’s sitting somewhere in her stomach.  It’s kind of heavy, sitting there all alone.

Szyren: Do you have any pirate coffee?  Cappuccino perhaps?  With one lump of sugar and whipped cream?

She cants her head to the side and stares expectantly at the pirate who brought out the tea.  After a second, he seems to break under her gaze and shuffles away to the pirate kitchen, head hung and tail between his legs.

Szyren: Oh, by the way, Ms. Pirate Captain Lady, do you know anyone named Starch? I’m looking for him, cuz he got whisked away by pirates four years ago.  Since you happen to be a pirate, I figure I’ll ask you, just in case.

RE: The Mist of Wist

((Just so you know, tea was offered to both, but that's okay.))

Szyren: Oh! We're here because the leprechaun told us to come... Except the leprechaun was a pirate and he only mentioned that we might profit from coming.  He didn’t mention you at all, though.  Maybe he hasn’t gotten out much in a while.  I think he was kinda growing around that chair.

Imelda stares at Szyren for a moment. She's not sure what to think. Whether Szyren meant the mythical leprechaun or The Leprechaun... she wasn't sure. So, she stared.

Szyren: Do you have any pirate coffee?  Cappuccino perhaps?  With one lump of sugar and whipped cream?

Imelda still stares.

Szyren looks at the Officer who brought the tea. He shuffles off to the kitchens and starts making a cappuccino for the odd woman.

Szyren: Oh, by the way, Ms. Pirate Captain Lady, do you know anyone named Starch? I’m looking for him, cuz he got whisked away by pirates four years ago.  Since you happen to be a pirate, I figure I’ll ask you, just in case.

Imelda stares... some more. She snaps out of it.

Imelda: Starch? ...Starch. I might have. I couldn't say any more than that.

The Officer walks back out with a cappuccino for Szyren.

Szyren stares at Imelda.

RE: The Mist of Wist

((I seem to have missed the end of that post. XD Oh well))

Szyren stares at Imelda.

Szyren: Well, that's especially useful.

She takes of sip of her coffee and burns the roof of her mouth.  And laughs.  And then realizes that it kind of hurts, and she laughs again.

Szyren: So... what are you doing here, Mrs. Hook?

Szyren will come up with some new kind of pirate cliche name for Imelda every time she talks to her until Imelda tells her her name... or at least what to call her.

Szyren slurps the whipped cream off the top of the coffee, noisily.

RE: The Mist of Wist

Imelda: I am out here, because I heard a rumor that a particular pirate that I know was last seen here on Wist. I was hoping to pay him a little visit. It's been a while since we've seen each other.

She takes another sip of her tea.

Imelda: So, why is it so important that you find... Starch...?

She puts her feet up on the table and looks over to Neil.

Imelda: Do you need a shower?

Neil takes a seat.

Neil: Hah. I bet you think I do. But I gotta hold onto my stink. Keeps me sharp.

He snaps his fingers.

Neil: On the edge.

Snap.

Neil: Where I gotta be.

He leans forward.

Neil: And when you look at this guy—smell me—you're thinking... that is one smelly muthahugga. But I'll tell you, I'm gonna tell you right now, that this stink is legendary. And I will die and meet the devil himself before I... I got nothin'.

He sits back.

Neil: Where's the shower?

Neil leans in close. Too close. Imelda presses herself back against her chair and holds her breath. She knows he said something about a legendary stink and the devil... maybe. Shew.

Neil: Where's the shower?

Imelda blinks.

Imelda: Uhm... Right. Down the hall on the left. I'm going to send an officer to keep an eye on you if you don't mind. I'll send a female, if you prefer. Don't steal the towels. Everyone tries to do that. I know you're not supposed to leave home without your towel... but not my towels.

An officer comes and takes Neil down the hall. She looks a little repulsed at the smell.

Imelda: So, where was I... Ah, why do you want to find Starch so badly? What was so special about him?

She glances over to the pannel on the wall, and sees that her crew has gotten Truth's ship secured down in the hangar, and the door to the small ship is opening.

RE: The Mist of Wist

Neil thinks long and hard about what exactly "keeping an eye on" him is in regards to taking a shower. Coming to no comfortable conclusion, he opts to shower in his clothes. They're a primary source of his smell anyway.

That is, after he removes the whiskey, napkins, and—wait... He doesn't have any sugar.

He knew he was forgetting something all those times he's been to pubs and restaurants! He'd have to acquire, by questionable means most likely, a plastic bag first. Perhaps the pirates would have some. But he would have to first devise some cockamamie plot to get to the kitchen.

After all, he is hungry. Almost nine hours in hyperspace will do that to a person. Even the bar of soap is looking pretty good by now, but at this point he's rubbed it all over his nasty body—a difficult task, given the clothing still adorning it.

After a thorough ten minutes in the shower, he turns off the water and stands there, waiting to dry.

His clothing, quite well drenched, is getting colder. The air is actually a little chilly.

Neil: Guard! I require high temperatures to thaw my cold soul, possibly in the form of warm food or even coffee. Would you kindly take me to a place where such a thing might be available?

RE: The Mist of Wist

Truth coughs hoarsly he dissasembles all of his weapons except for the pistol and hides that throughout his ship. He replies to her "accepted...although I would have preferred to have first row seats and catering I suppose an armed guard will be just as good as long as he or she is intelligent" he waits for a reply.

Kai wheezes grabbing at his heart he takes two shiny blue pills. He trembles for a moment then reclines in his chair. KAi lights up a smoke and takes a long puff "Pirates, Pirates oh my I wish I had more time this shall be the final chapter in my legacy..." He frowns and then laughs hysterically "I should have been a poet!"

RE: The Mist of Wist

Szyren pauses and watches Neil wander off to bathe.  She hadn't noticed his odor.  She thought she had a rather good sense of smell.  This is unfortunate, really.  Maybe too much time spent sniffing unknown chemicals aboard that ship earlier has damaged her ability to smell regular things.

Imelda: So, where was I... Ah, why do you want to find Starch so badly? What was so special about him?

She finishes her coffee before she talks.

Szyren: Pirate!

She snaps her fingers and then remembers that she can't snap very well at all.

Szyren: More coffee!

The pirate grumbles something at being bossed around by a landlubber.

Szyren: Don't call me fat.

Once she gets her coffee, Szyren turns to Imelda.

Szyren: Well, Captain Red-Hair.  As a female, you might understand this.  Starch was very very special to me, and it leaves a very nasty gorey gaping wound in my heart to not know even if he is alive or not.  So I have to find him, you see, otherwise I might just die.  And if I can't find him, well, I need to know what happened at least.  Knowing that he's dead is less painful than not knowing anything.  As you can see, I am rather depressed right now, and I can't get over it until I know.

She is being very serious.

Imelda looks at her for a moment, and ponders what exactly this meant. Was she in love with Starch? Interesting.
Imelda nods her head for a moment, trying to think of a responce.

Imelda: Yes, I understand your pain. Though most of my relationships have been me leaving, instead of them. But there was one man in particular. He... well, that's another story. What about Neil, how do you feel about him?

Right after she asks that question, Neil walks in. He is very wet, though smells much better.

Neil: She won't take me to the kitchens? Where are they? I demand sustenance.
Imelda: It's alright Amy. We all need to go to the kitchens to get something to eat before we head down to Wist. I have... work... to do down there.

Imelda looks at Szyren, and gives her a "We'll finish this talk later" look.

She then walks over to the access pannel, and tells them to bring Truth up to the kitchens. She'll be taking him with her as well. Might as well have protection while she's down there... in some form or another.
