QuantumTroll Street Fighter/Space Station 10/10/2008 4:38:50 AM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 181	re: fightin skies Uh, so, it'd be awkward if Hugo just saved Valerie and her pilot and they just leave.  Need a plot hook, I guess, but I don't know what would hook Valerie.   One thing I was thinking about was looting the remains of the bandit dirigible and Hugo's employer.  Then, there are a couple of bandits in Sally who recognize the ornithopter and we have a little fight.  That could be swung into my original plot idea of starting a fight club and growing it into a fighting tournament, with the bandit loot as starting capital.  How does that sound? Also, I wrote a scene where the Werrington dirigible tries to defend itself and fails, but in then my laptop got stolen (!), so I'll have to wait with that until I get a new computer and I can get access to my back-up hard drive.

I figured something would stop Valerie, I just didn't figure out what yet. We could go with your idea and loot the bandits' ship, I'm just not sure exactly how interesting writing about a fight club would be afterwards. We can always try it! But this is fine, too, I just need to decide how Hugo is going to interpret that statement. Also: welcome Terrathel!

QuantumTroll Street Fighter/Space Station 10/23/2008 9:32:00 AM Level: 1 Experience: 0 Total Posts: 181	RE: re: fightin skies Enjoy your day at work!  Here's a run-down of my missing post: In Avesta Ruin (the end destination of the Werrington Express), a few months ago Hugo made a bad man named Rick Sonny very angry.  Something about catching him cheating at a gambling establishment, and Sonny was used to being allowed to cheat because he's got a lot of tough pals, you know?  So Hugo beat him and his buddies up (with Blank-fu) and stole a trinket.  That trinket funded the flyer plus some free time.  Hugo was chased out of town, but thinks the incident is long forgotten by this time.  Evidently Sonny keeps grudges.   I would guess the contract would skip over most everything except "Rick Sonny of Avesta Ruin wants Hugo Blank for $$$ because nobody crosses Rick Sonny and lives."  Anything more would be too embarrassing to make public knowledge.  So that's why she maybe doesn't know so much about it, except how to find Hugo and that he's considered dangerous.  Whether he's wanted dead or alive is up to you.
