RE: Take back the city

Asmod sipped tea from a mug, pinky properly held straight out. He turned to Engell.

Asmod: I am glad I was here for this. You?

Engell also nursed his mug of hot tea.

Engell: Certainly.

(OOC: I'm having trouble sorting out what in the world is happening at the end of your post. Embarrassed)

RE: Take back the city

The MK2 saw the man being surrounded by the six, and checked to see if he knew the man from somewhere, which he was pretty sure he did. The man was Travis Arc, a fellow bounty hunter like himself. The MK2 had a choice; let them proceed, and then hopefully get rid of a competetor, or help him out and gain some favour with him.

Thanks to the help of the hunter's creed, he chose.

"Activate camouflage progrgram" MK2 said to himself, which turned him into and everday looking man.

'humans' he thought 'always getting in trouble, but, might as well help him out.' He preparing to draw his C8 raptor, now detached from his arm, becuase he was pretty sure it was going to get nasty.

RE: Take back the city

(OOC: Sorry for the confusion... at the end of the post Travis had a choke-hold on one of the guns-for-hire, and was pointing his gun at the man's head, and was basically shouting over his shoulder over to the other characters.  The client and his mercinaries were on the other side of Travis and the rest, with the captured man in between them.  >.< Sorry if I hijacked the plot for a while... wanted to give myself reason to actually be part of the group.)

Travis sighed slightly... at least with the 3 on his side, they wouldn't be slaughtered within seconds...

Travis then noticed a man with a C8 step up beside him.  The man's stance seemed strangely familiar, but he quietly shrugged it off, then nodded towards the man before turning back towards his client.

The client hadn't moved yet, but his face was beginning to twist angrily.  He was paying the hired-guns per kill, and it was looking to be a bit more than a lone bounty hunter.  Costs were rising...

RE: Take back the city

Turning their attention from the orcs, Deon and Ghost noticed the commotion to their left. Although they couldn't quite make out what the man holding the hostage was yelling at them, they could see that 5 mercs had surrounded a target who had taken their comrade by the head.

Probably another deal gone bad...

"Whaddaya say, should we help him?" Ghost muttered to his companion without shifting his gaze from the group - who hadn't seemed to take much notice of them.

"eh, what the hey. Let's do this."
Deon began strolling casually towards the fray. "Hey! why don't y'all drop your weapons and we'll talk about the situation?"

His request was met by a burst of bullets, which he had narrowly managed to evade by diving behind a nearby car.
"Didn't think so" he thought to himself as he drew his gun and signalled to Ghost to do the same...

RE: Take back the city

MK2 quickly calculated the odds of sucess, which were'nt very high unless he acted fast. Then he noticed the man enter the fight with his target, guns drawn, he take carefull notice to watch them throught this.

He then pulled his gun out, pointing it to what appeared to be the leader of the group ans said.

"I sugest that you run now, for you face the ultimate fighting machine, the MK2 Assasin Droid." Then he turned to his target saying "and you Ghost, don't have very long to live."

"What's new?" replied Ghost to his assailant, as he drew his dual Px4 Storms.

A gunfight had now erupted, and the noise of the nearby pub was drowned out by the sound of bullets fleeing their barrels.

Deon's 'cover' was soon torn to shreds by automatic fire, forcing him to run to a nearby dumpster. The thought of a dumpster providing him more protection than a car was slightly comical for him but this was no time for amusement.

Deon peeked out for a mere second to find a target but was forced back by another barrage of lead.
"Son of a slag..." He muttered as he blind fired a few rounds. "GHOST! PINNED!" He yelled.

"Yeah, Yeah, I know!" Ghost replied, angered at the sudden disruption of his thoughts. Ghost was located at the opposite end of the street to Deon, hiding behind a wall. Throwing both of his arms around the wall he emptied both his magazines towards the general direction of the enemy.

Apparently, the gunfight had attracted some attention from the lovely patrons of the pub, three of which who know emerged brandishing various forms of shotguns.

"Oh great..." groaned Deon, refreshing his magazine.

RE: Take back the city

At this point what seemed like two dozen people were involved in a firefight in front of the bar. Malcolm walked through the hail of gunfire, pistol rounds plinking harmlessly off of his armor, toward Asmod and Engell.

One of the henchmen grabbed Malcolm by the arm.

Henchman: Hey, could you be my shield?

Malcolm turned toward the henchman without hurry and stared at him with a mix of irritation and boredom. He held the stare, waiting calmly for the man to say "nevermind."

It turned out to be a figurative "nevermind" as several bullets pierced his flesh. Malcolm turned and continued to the too-small table with the too-large orcs and sat down.

Malcolm: Well.
Asmod: Yes.
Engell: It is a deep subject.

RE: Take back the city

MK2 was caught up in the confusion of the fight. He fired left and right, pausing only once to swicht his crytal that broke. One of the mercs chared him with his gun, but it crumppled agaignst his hard outer shell.

"Ouch "he said, with the man staring at him in teror, then wrenched the gun from the man's hand with inhuman strength, and wacked him sensless with it. Some how though, the hit damaged his camoflauge mechanism, and he revted back to his real appearence.

'No matter' he thought 'at least they'll know who they're really getting killed by.'

Then he saw the big man waering the iron suit, and took a shot at him. The shot bounced off the armour, and ricoched to them man that was holding on to the walking tank.

"Finally" he said "humans realize the importance of iron skin, he'll be an intereting target if a get a job for him."

RE: Take back the city

Travis had lost hold on his "hostage" as the brawl broke out, but had quickly drawn a beam saber, and started towards his client, diving between cars, taking down henchmen that were in his way.

After about three minutes of this, he finally stood in front of his client, with his two swords drawn.

"I assume that by now, you've realized it wasn't the smartest idea to betray a bounty hunter," He shouted over the noise of the fight.

"Perhaps, but at least I won't have to pay YOU off," Returned the client.

"Heh, you're about to pay the greatest price."

With that comment, Travis gave a rather demonic smile, and lunged towards the client.  The man stepped to the side, and swung his gun down towards Travis's head.  Travis dodged, then kicked the man's legs out from under him.

Travis drew and leveled a pistol at the man's head.  The client rolled to the side, then jumped up, knocked away Travis's Gun, and slugged him.

Travis reeled as he stepped away, then took a breath, then cracked his neck, and put the beam saber away.

He then glanced around the area.  This was getting out of hand, and if his smoke grenade hadn't already set off alarms at all the law enforcement agencies in the vicinity, the gunfire should.

He turned back towards the client, who had by this time picked up Travis's discarded firearm, and leveled it.

Travis didn't have much time... He then ducked to the side to avoid a couple shots from his own weapon, and pulled a strip of three grenades from his belt.  He worked behind the client, and pushed the man to the ground, and wrapped the strip around the clients neck, and shouted over the racket.

"You have two options you son of a _______.  Either you call your henchmen off, or your going to be worse off than dead."

The client shouted incoherently, and one of the henchmen who were near enough to actually hear, stopped, and continued the shout to the other remaining henchmen, who then lowered their weapons.  Confused by the shouting, the participants who had come out from the bar, stopped, and looked around.

Travis pulled the grenade strip harder, "Now have them throw down their weapons, and surrender."

The client clawed at the ground weakly, then repeated Travis's orders, before saying weakly, "I- I suppose that you'll still want money from this..."

Travis snarled, and pulled even harder, and shouted, "No.  You will however pay compensation for every bullet fired here tonight.  I do not want your foul tape."

Travis then pulled harder still, so that the client went unconscious.  He then dragged the client's body onto the sidewalk, then turned back to the henchemen and shouted, "If you were not here beforehand, you will now leave quietly.  If you were in the bar beforehand, you will return.  If you do not, your death will be swift, and definitely unrecorded."  Travis glared around at all of the henchmen, who in turn slowly started scattering.

RE: Take back the city

Asmod: Fairly impressive.
Engell: Reckless.

Malcolm shrugged.

Malcolm: Got the job done.

The orcs were, at this time, taking the final sips of their tea. Malcolm leaned toward the ground and picked up a few bullet cases—two .380s, three 9mms, and a .45. They had rolled toward him due to the storm drain under the table and the slight grade toward it. All six were brass; he would either reload them or melt them down some day and do something neat with them. He dumped them into a pouch on his belt with the rest of the cases he's idly picked up throughout his travels.

Asmod set the tea cup gingerly on the table, slid his chair back, and stood up.

Asmod: Before you all leave,

He spoke loudly, his gravelly voice undoubtedly getting the attention of anyone with an semblance of hearing left—not necessarily a common trait after the gunfight.

Asmod: I would like to know which of you is the man with whom I apparently fought earlier this very night.
