The Streets Are Alive With the Sound of Bloodshed.

A short man, about 5' 4", sits against the side of a dumpster. No, he isn't homeless, or drunk, or any number of reasons for which he would be sitting against a filthy dumpster on a filthy sidewalk; he does not match any of these criteria. He looks quite out of place, in fact, for his clothing is clean and wrinkle-free; his hair is well-groomed; a body falls on him, a bullet having just passed through his carotid artery.

Poor short man. If only you had known this was the single street in the sector with nothing but gang violence. Like a never-ending war, an eternal hail of bullets, two factions battled for dominance. Now he is caught in this place in which he does not belong.

The poor short man probably wouldn't have survived had a large man in medieval armor not intervened and brutally ended the shooters. The poor short man, having soiled himself, does not say a word, but simply sprints off as fast as his short legs will take him, tears streaming down his face. He would soon see his family again, and they would soon blow this slaghole.

The medieval man does not seem to mind the lack of thanks. He simply moves on, with an odd man in a sport jacket in tow.

This is not, however, a happy ending. The gangs will certainly not be pleased with the medieval man's actions. Violence and death will follow him and the jacketed man, but they will survive, bringing unintended justice to...

The Many.
