Lobiel Renalt

Character Name: Lobiel Renalt

Age: 26

Gender: M

Species: Human

Description: Lobiel is allied with the Enforcers. He is a average sized man with few visual quirks except his snow white hair, a rare hereditary disorder that causes his hair to produce little-to-no pigment. He carries himself with an air of confidence and inspires those under him with courage.

History: Lobiel was an orphan taken in by one of the Enforcers. He grew up on the ship Retribution. He felt a strong sense of loyalty to them and would give his life for their cause. Around the age of 19 his ship attacked a small shuttle for not complying with protocol and unbeknownst to the Retribution the ship carried a powerful caster and in the ensuing chaos the Retribution was torn asunder. It was nothing short of a miracle that he was able to make it to an escape pod. This encounter with the caster has caused him to harbor an intense fear and hate against all magic users. He now works as a solo enforcer, occasionally calling in reinforcements.
Later on in his life he was assigned to the ship Judgment MK II. It was there that he met his fiancé, Jasmine. During a routine cargo check, something went wrong and the perpetrator pulled a gun on the two. Before Lobiel could leap into action two shots were fired at Jasmine they both hit her, one in the chest and one in the arm. Lobiel quickly dispatched the attacker, unfortunately the damage was done. During surgery Jasmine flat lined and died. Lobiel blames himself for her death and carries her signature circular locket. However the locket is locked and he has not been able to figure out the four letter combination.
He requested a transfer off the Judgment MK II. He was transferred to the Firebird he was the second in command aboard the ship. His commanding officer, Markus, was a statuesque man and a brilliant leader. Lobiel gladly served under him and would follow Markus to the end. When Lobiel was 25 he discovered a plot that would deeply impact the Enforcers if enacted. The plot was headed by Markus and he even was going to let Lobiel join him and the usurpers. Lobiel was torn between loyalty to Markus and duty to the Enforcers. He chose Duty and shot Markus and ratted out the other traitors. Afterwards he was promoted to a high ranking officer and decided to become a one-man show.

Item(s):
Springfield Armory SOCOM II- Red dot sight/ flashlight on 9o clock rail
Frag Grenade x2
Flashbang Grenade
FS HideAway Knife  (wharncliff style)
Special Armament:
Abrogate Based Ammunition (ABA) - When a round made of this material lodges itself into a mage, or mages armor it dampens his/her magical potency, when enough of it is present it can even extinguish the mage’s power.
Abrogate Based Armor (ABAR) - Body armor that not only can stop Small arms fire (Most pistol rounds) , it will also dissipate any offensive magic used on the wearer.
Abrogate Spell Disruptor  (ASD) - It is basically a spike of solid Abrogate about 10” long weighing 15 lbs. Once drove into a person or magical object it will extinguish all but the most powerful of magic.
Enforcer Communication Device - A small implant inside of the earlobe, once activated it will allow communication between the nearest Enforcer dispatcher and the user. It is activated by pinching the earlobe.
Locked Locket w/ broken chain.
(Tell me if I’ve gone overprice with the special stuff.)

Ship/Vehicle:

RXN-3 Thunderbird
Special Armament:
“Harpoon” gun - Fires a rope with a spear that releases barbs once it punctures it’s target, effectively latching the two ships together. It can be released and reeled in.
Advanced sensory array
Less armor to compensate for the added weight

RE: Lobiel Renalt

You mention a grenade launcher on the SOCOM II, but you don't have a grenade launcher item. For the SOCOM II, you would want something like the H&K AG-C (doesn't exist on the site yet Smile), which would run you 550.

That's 2730 without the abrogate items, and you wouldn't be able to afford the armor at that point, as not only is it bullet-resistant, it's also magic-resistant, which is NOT going to come cheap. If you dumped the Microtech HALO III (325Tape ) you could fit the armor in there, but not the spell disruptor.

Also, I'd like some more elaboration on his history, and to a lesser extent his personality.

OK if I got rid of the HALO III and did not purchase the grenade launcher would I be able to fit the armor and disrupter in their?

RE: Lobiel Renalt

Sure, you could throw in a less expensive knife while you're at it.

Here's a breakdown of your expenses:
1600Tape for the Springfield Armory SOCOM II
180Tape combined for two frag grenades
75Tape for the flashbang
700Tape for the armor, since regular kevlar armor will run you anywhere from 400 to 600 dollars in reality, this seemed reasonable for not only protection from bullets, but also magic.
200Tape for the spell disruptor, since it's just a solid block of the stuff and a magic-negating substance can't be cheap. Grin
I'm not taking any money out for the special ammunition.

Your total here is 2755, leaving you with 245 tape to do whatever with.

Could you elaborate on what "medium arms fire" is when you say the armor can stop it?

OK, but you didn't edit your inventory or tell me what you mean by "medium arms fire". Oh Well

RE: Lobiel Renalt

There's exactly why I wanted you to elaborate, and partially why I added the "Armor-Piercing Rounds" section of the Firearm-Related Misconceptions and Mistakes thread. Grin

Body armor capable of even stopping rifle rounds is cumbersome and heavy. Being able to stop a 25mm is basically impossible, and even if you did pull it off, it would weigh a ridiculous amount and also cost you a few thousand. Wink I sort of cut you a break at 700 for magic-resistant armor under the impression that its effectiveness against firearms was about that of a kevlar vest.

RE: Lobiel Renalt

I was actually thinking "most pistol rounds". If you only want to make it 9mm, I'll cut the price. Smile
